The two community colleges in my area don't have waitlists, you simply apply and if you're rejected then you apply again for the next semester, but they're very competitive. At the one, getting into the RN program with less than a 3.8 in the prereq's is unheard of, and that school created more requirements for students, like being a CNA before applying to the program. The school I was admitted to isn't as bad, but that's because admission isn't based solely on GPA, but on a point system. The LPN program at the local tech center is also based on a complex point system. It all depends on where you go.
The CC that I attend has a 2-3 semester wait list once you have finished all pre-req's and have passed the teas test. The wait is like torture, all I keep thinking is I could be taking nursing classes right now, but I'm not. Instead of doing nothing I have been working on my pre-req's towards my BSN to keep my mind busy!!!! All the schools here in NJ for the Associates in nursing have a wait-list, there's just no getting around it!
hi i m gonna start my nursing in community collage . they want me to complete my 13 credits first but i m confuse that how long does it to take to complete that credits and after that i m able to get admission if my GPA is good enough like more than 3 and if i m not able to get admission whats the next option for me

I am getting freaked out because I keep hearing that community colleges have long waitlists for admitting nursing students! I have a previous Bachelor's Degree and applying to the 2 community colleges in my area (MCC and GCC near Rochester, NY). Help!
