Waiting for a letter from Forsyth Tech for ADN Fall 2012

U.S.A. North Carolina

Hi everyone,

I've heard that Forsyth Tech usually sends out letters pretty quickly, beginning about a week from the deadline. I've also heard that A LOT of people -- even more than the 350 applicants in spring 2012 -- have applied for fall. I'm on pins and needles waiting for good news. If anyone else receives a letter, could you post?

I received a denial letter Sat., due to my 8 week course not being factored in. I had emailed Ms. Groome in late Feb. to see if those points would count if my teacher agreed to put my grade in early for me. She said that would work and would make a note. Needless to say they were missed due to a miscommunication even though they were in on time. Ms. Groome looked back over my grades and said that I would be receiving an acceptance letter this week since I had 160 points. I can't wait to get started and look forward to working with everyone that got it! :D

Congrats to everyone who got in! I started this spring in the ADN program and remember be as excited as you are now to receive my letter! I would just say the program is tough, lots of studying required, everyone says its hard to get in and even harder to stay in..lol However, it is possible! Good luck to everyone and let me know if I can help you in anyway!!

mainj2254 I applied to the LPN-RN program. I scored a 69.3 on the TEAS test. Which i thought was horrible! I didn't give myself a chance to retake it, so i was stuck with that score. Luckily I made all A's in my general pre reqs, so i think really that's what helped me in the long run, not to mention, suprisingly, i scored well on the science section! I've been a LPN for 4 years now so I had forgotten a lot of the basics. I have been reviewing a NC-CLEX book to freshen up on the things i kinda put on the back burner in hopes that will help me when I start the program. As for orientation, I think all health classes go for the same orientation. My husband is an X-RAY and is currently enrolled in CAT-scan @ forsyth. He said when he went to orientation it was all the allied health programs in there together, then closer to the end they split everyone up into their different programs. He said he was in orientation with nursing students as well as dental students etc.. As for the RN program being hard, I'm sure its not easy. The LPN program is the same way. You cant study based on what's being taught in lecture. But in the long run, it prepares you for the NC-CLEX. The NC-CLEX for the LPN was ridiculously confusing.. lol. Good luck to you as well!

I just saw this post, I'm starting the program in August, anybody find anything good with used supplies, I hate to buy all that stuff again

I'm still waiting for people to not take their seats! Being on the waiting list is crappy! Everytime my phone rings, I pray it is the nursing addmissions!

@ErinJane1, I know what you mean, I have a friend I went through LPN with who's also on the wait list, they said in orientation they took 24 instead of 22 this year but not everyone was there so hopefully you can get in, keep me posted and good luck

HI Everyone. Has any alternates been contacted yet?

Last I heard from the admissions (a couple weeks ago), they had gone to the 8th alternate. You can probably contact them and they will tell you what number they are on. If you do, let us know!!

Anyone heard anything more on alternates or others not going to be able to start the ADN program in the Fall? I heard they would take alternates until July 3rd.
