Waiting on Ivy Tech acceptance letters thread

U.S.A. Indiana

I thought it might be nice to have a place for us to vent our frustrations with waiting until May 30th or so when letters start going out. I know I'm going nuts already!

How about introductions and a little info about each person?

I'm applying to both Bloomington and Indy-Lawrence for the Fall 2009 ASN programs. I turned in my apps this week with 4 As on the pre-reqs and a 90.0 on the TEAS. My eventual goal is at least getting a BSN, and if I feel like doing homework long enough, an MSN of some sort. I work full time now, but will hopefully only work part time if I get accepted. I'm so antsy to start preparing and finally feel like all of this is real!

I know it!! I took Micro there and it had the same instructor/rules for the ANp classes: Allowed notes for tests, final was all old test questions (you are allowed to bring and use ALL old notes). You go to lab but have NO LAB TESTS!! Extra credit every week, can write your own test questions and answer them for bonus PLUS your tests are curved!!

It is unfair to students at all other campuses really. I took ANP at Lawrence and there was NO extra credit at all!

We got out early every single week. Teacher is very nice too.

Wow, I wish I would have known! 102 is proving to be a little tougher for me than 101. The condensed time frame along with a more challenging instructor is frying my brain :)

I have to agree with you on the fairness issue, kinda stinks knowing some of us have been working harder than others that are applying for the same limited spots!

i just got my acceptance letter from columbus!!!!!!!!!

What was your score?

In my haste to know your score so I could know if I got in, I forgot to say CONGRATULATIONS!!

I got into Columbus!! (213)

I got into Columbus!! (213)

YAY! Congratulations! and to dbeaver too! :yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah::yeah: :yeah::yeah: You guys get an extra :yeah: for your patience!

I have a very interesting story to share about my experience with Columbus today. My husband got home before me and got the mail today. I was waiting on the phone as he opened my letter from Ivy Tech. It was a rejection letter. :bowingpurI was absolutely crushed, but I really felt like there should be an explanation. I had a score of 200 - 3 A's, 1 B and an 87 on the TEAS. So, after I pulled myself together, I went over to the school and asked about my letter. Long story short, they had not transferred my credit for English from IU. Once I straightened out the problem, I was in! :yeah: Talk about a rollercoaster! Moral of the story: If you don't get in, don't give up hope. It never hurts to ask and make sure there wasn't a mistake. She informed me they had miscalculations on at least 2 others. Also, for those who were wondering, the lowest to get in the Columbus program had a 198 and they had 190 applicants.

Congrats to all the rest who got into Columbus today. Maybe we should get together and meet before orientation? That way we start the program off with friends. :nuke:

Hi All! I'm new to the discussion board. I received my acceptance :yeah:letter today for Columbus as well! Congrats to all of you! Hope to meet some of you soon... :nurse: Now the fun begins...

I got a rejection letter too but I know they are wrong. I had a score of 205. I got my mail too late to go up there today but I will be first thing tomorrow morning. I couldn't believe that I had been waiting 2 extra weeks past the date the letters were supposed to be mailed only to get a rejection letter. I was so crushed! I'm not even sure i want to go to Columbus will all the things I've heard about it.

sorry for not posting my score but i had to get to work. let's see, 4 a's - 120 points, 3 points for region, and 89.6 for the teas. sure let's round up, 213 points.

now, i am home from work and i'm enjoying a celebration beer from pa, yuengling beer. it tastes soooo good! see you all soon.

Well I'm glad that you got it straightened out, amd2123! And I hope it gets fixed for April too.

Obviously you guys had good enough scores and deserve to be in, and it was their fault you got rejection letters by mistake, so congrats! But, just out of curiosity, I wonder how they do things when they have made mistakes and then have to fix them and people get in that they were not counting on. . . does that mean that the last few people on the list who originally would have gotten acceptance letters, get bumped off and then get told that they are now rejected? Or do they just have a few more people over their program limit? like having 63 or 64 people in a 60-person program?
