waiting for full time

I have been working as a part-time nurse floating from one unit to another one for almost two years. I have only three days in a week (3-11) including every other weekend. I have a good evaluation. How long do you think I should have to wait until getting more days and regular hours without shifting between units and asking for extra days all the time?

I have not looked yet for another job because I like the place and feel that its not a good time for finding another job. Any advice is highly appreciated.

You need to move to where the jobs are even if that mean leaving the state.

dang, you've been there 2 yrs and no ft spot for you? sounds like you're working in a small area. as the other poster stated, you might want to consider a bigger area for greener pastures.

Start looking at other SNFs in the area.

They are satisfied with the status quo and think that you are satisfied with the status quo. Speak up. Since nobody has shown interest in your job progression, it would not be a bad idea to start looking elsewhere to fill in a full work week or to move lock, stock, and barrel. Good luck.

yes, you might consider exploring other locations to fill in your hours. You might find you are just as happy there. Also, it is human nature to want what one can't have, so getting a full-time offer elsewhere will give you amunition to approach your boss to say that you would never willing leave, but.....you need full time.....:yeah:

Have you gotten any feedback in the form of performance evaluations? Positive reviews can be used to remind them of your value.
