I've been waiting for months to hear on word re: my California RN license by endorsement from Iowa. I mailed overnight Jan 20. Breeze web site lists received on Feb 12.
Mid may I still hadn't heard anything so my sister made a whole day trip driving to the office in Sacramento to check on status. She was able to find out California Board of nursing mailed in my hard copy fingerprint card for clearance sometime in March, and that is all they are waiting. The wait could be three months from when they submitted (but thinking it could be longer by the time they look at it and let me know I have a license).
I'm getting nervous... I close on selling my house July 22, my last day at work is July 14th... I was hoping to be applying for a new job by now. Thinking about flying out as soon as schedule would allow (June 28,29).
thoughts?
So after thinking about it more, decided I WANT to fly out to do a livescan for finger prints but is this ok if I already sent hard copy in? Thinking of booking ticket tonight but do you need to make an appointment?

you need an appointment AND you will be starting the process over again with application. You will have to get all of your transcripts, verifications and application again. The good news is if you do that, plus when you apply you pay the extra $50 for the temp license, you should get the temp in a week or two. You should ALWAYS apply with a temp license just in case.

How do you get the temp in a week or 2? I did the live scan and paid for a temp, and still don't have the temp 14+ weeks later =/
Actually I got the temp in 4 days. I walked everything in to the office in Sacramento and hand delivered it. By everything I mean transcripts, application, live-scan receipt, check for payment and had done all of my online license verifications a couple weeks prior.
It makes me wonder why people take so long to get theirs? I had my permanent license in just under 4 months which is fairly normal from my understanding.
So if they say they got my items Feb 12 (overnighted it jan 20) and they mailed my fingerprints to FBI in March, does it mean it might be any day? Also, s
Sometimes real issues come up and I'm afraid of moving before I get it... because what if I move and then I get a denial. I know totally unlikely but I've heard a few horror stories of stolen identities and who knows what else. I also don't want to be unemployed for months.
