I took and passed the NCLEX-PN Aug 2010. Got a letter stating my application will go to enforcement two weeeks after I took the test and got my letter that I passed three weeks after the test. I am currently still waiting for the BVNPT to make a decision on my application. My offense was 14 or 15 years ago misdemenour petty theft and bad checks. I was young and dumb. Anyway I am still waiting to hear from them and I have called, emailed and all I keep getting is all cases are different and we can't give you a time. I was told up to 60 days then several more weeks, and it is just very frustrating. I really need to start looking for a job. Why is the board so secretive and allusive about this process. I understand each case is different but if your working on my case can't you speak on my case. I am also told they are understaffed and are very busy, I get that too but I just can't see why its taking this long I did a background check to get into nursing school. I did live scan to take the test and I wrote about what my violations were. What more do they need. I just would like to know one way or the other so I can move onward with my life. This really sucks. Anyone else out there in my situation or have some advise?

I'm I'm the same boats as you..so let me get this straight...u took the test, waiting for 3 weeks to get your passing results then told u two weeks after that they were sending your application out? 5 weeks?!?! That's alot of waiting to do...
I actually got a letter from enforcement before I got my letter that I had passed the test. I am still waiting for a letter saying everything is clear and I can pay to get my license. I am on week 11 from the day I took my test.

I finished school February 2010. My application was mailed out Feb. 12, 2010. I took my NCLEX the end of May. I finally received the letter I passed seven weeks later in July BUT it stated my application was pending due to my petty theft conviction 15 years ago. After many phone calls, I finally received a letter October 28th stating I was DENIED! Needless to say I was devastated. I am now in the process of appeals which can take up to a year from what I am told. The lawyer I contacted assured me that I would be granted my license after the appeals process but at this point I am feeling hopeless. I hope you get an answer soon and are given your license.
Wow I'm sorry to hear that...did it say why you were denied? I would figure that they will grant you the license since it was 15 yrs ago...
wow that really makes me scared. I have so much riding on this whole thing if they deny me well I don't know. My situation is similar did they give you any reason or just a denial?

I have been waiting as well. Got a letter from bvnpt set. 2010 stating I passed nclex but is pending for further investigation on my case, ticket for underage drinking 8 years ago. Just called my tech. this morning and she said my license is in the final process and to call at the end of the month, so much waiting!
I would be so ****** off if denied because a classmate with a DUI already received her license! I think it's **** **** that someone with a DUI for can get their license before someone for a ticket for underage drinking, damn bottle 3/4 full.....

Wow, that is devastating! I am so sorry. I may have missed something in your prior post, but did you notify the board that you had a misdemeanor/felony before appying for the nclex? Just curious and hope you get a license after the appeals process. Good luck!

congrats on getting your license! That is a wonderful accomplishment and I know your are feeling so releived about it! I was wondering if you were able to get employment with your criminal history? I suspect you will probably have to do a "live-scan" for fingerprinting. Just curious how it is all working out for you and if you have any suggestions, please don't hesitate to update us...Thank you!
