Hello,
I am a new grad...my final transcript went out to the BRN on May 5th and I am waiting for my ATT. I was hoping to take NCLEX ASAP...at least by the end of May, but I have heard some rumors that there is a major back-up in issuing ATTs due to staff cut-backs. Does anyone know anything about this? Should I apply for licensure in another state and then apply for endorsement later?
Thanks for any info you have.

You need to give them a couple of weeks....
And did you pay the $200 to Pearson-Vue? You definitely will not receive your ATT until then, as Pearson-Vue is the one that actually mails out the ATT, it is no longer done by the state BON.
It is going to take just as long to get your ATT from another state, as they will need to verify your schooling, etc.

Hello, I would not expect your ATT before the end of may. I know your anxious but the BON's are so backed up. I'm from Pennsylvania and also a newer grad and mine took about 6 weeks to get. I have also applied for licensure in CA and yes it is taking forever. I would not recomend taking it in another state you wont get your ATT any faster. Yes all the waiting really sucks!!!
Good luck on your boards
Suzanne, yes I applied through Pearson Vue March 22nd. I am all registered, paid, and now I just wait for the BRN to authorize me to test!!!
I tried to call the BRN to verify that they have received my entire application, including final transcript, but the line is busy...the pre-recorded message says it can take up to 6 weeks and Pearson Vue says it takes about 4 weeks. I guess it was wishful thinking to think I could take it by the end of May! I just don't want to forget everything I've learned!
If you think that you are going to forget everything by then..........????
I hope that you are doing practice questions on a daily basis........ :)

What is Pearson Vue? I am also a recent graduate and I have mailed in my applications to CA BON on May 9th. When I completed my application, there was no information about it. The informartion I got was after the BON processed my application they will send me an ATT and then that will be the time for me to pay the $200.00 NCLEX-RN fee and schedule my exam. All I paid was the application and fingerprinting. Currently I'm taking a review live course and I'd like to be able to sit in for the NCLEX-RN soon after the review is over which ends on May 26th. What should I do? Who should I contact? Your help is much appreciated! Thanks!
You have mis-information.....
You will receive a letter form CA BON stating that you meet the requirements for licensure and your education has been approved, and that you have been approved to sit for the exam. This is not the ATT letter.
You must register with Pearson-Vue at http://www.pearsonvue.com and pay them the $200 for the exam. Once California BON notifies them that you have been approved to sit for the exam, and they have recieved your $200, they will send you the ATT. You will then have 90 days to take the exam.
Good luck on your exam..................
(until you actually pay the $200, you will not receive the ATT)

Suzanne,
Thank you for that important information. I would've not know it until I came across this discussion. Wonder why that information was not included otherwise I would've just be sitting here and waiting for my ATT.....I guess I will register and pay at Pearson Vue soon after my review class is over. Thank you again!

Just another piece of info for those of you in California ...
If you applied to get your IPN, you can check the California BON's website to see if it has been issued to you. I'm guessing that you'll be able to see your name before you get the info in the mail (simple math = the internet is WAY faster than the postal service)!
My paperwork was done four months ago, fees paid to BON and PearsonVUE, and the school sent out the info saying I'd passed on May 2nd. And, no, I still haven't heard anything!
If any California nursing students get their IPN or ATT ... let us know when all of your final paperwork was sent in so that the rest of us have some sort of a time frame to work with!
Thanks!
Great idea, SC! I just checked the website and I have an RN IP!!! :balloons: It was issued yesterday!!!
Hopefully that means my ATT is not too far behind!
Awesome news!!! It gives hope to the rest of us!!!
Congrats!!!!
