Hi there and congrats on passing the NCLEX! Woot!
I'd suggest you apply as soon as you can. There's no telling what the job market will be like in October and if you wait that late then you'll be competing with even more new grads.
If you can, you should start putting in a couple of application now. Choose a few hospitals in your area and submit some applications. Let them know that your availability will be a little later in the year, but while you're gone, they can have your info on file and can review your qualifications while you're on vacation. Saves time for you and the HR department.
Have fun and good luck on your job search! It's a jungle out there! :monkeydance:

Congrats!
Start applying now. When you do get hired you just be forward about it; look I have these plans made from months ago for these dates but I can work around them/whatever. It takes a while anyway to get the call backs anyway.
thank you..

I applied for jobs in January even though I was not graduating until May. I had an interview in February, was offered the job in March, and began working June 1. I would say it can take three months or more just to get hired. And in this economy, jobs are tough to find/get. Some folks have been searching for a year! Good luck to you and happy trails!
