Wagner College ABSN FALL 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey, I didn't see a thread already posted so I decided to create one. Did anyone else hear back and schedule an interview? I have one scheduled for the first week of March and was curious if anyone knew anything about the process.

Hello Everyone,

The interview was amazing, super calm and friendly, lasted about 35 minutes. The interviewer looked at and read all the submitted documents before hand and asked questions based on essay and resume (at least that's how it was for me). I was also asked about pre-reqs, if they are all done and when I am planning to take the TEAS- it was brought up a few times during the interview (they want them before June 1). Also the interviewer asked if you have ever been enrolled into another nursing program and as mentioned above how you handle stress, but no strength/weakness questions were asked. I hope this information helps others who have interviews scheduled and next ABSN Fall 2021 candidates. Cheers ?

Hi, I interviewed and wanted to add that it is a really positive experience. I was asked, essentially: Why am I interested in nursing, why now, and how do I handle stress. A good portion of the interview was spent going over my documents and making sure I had everything ready for the program/had my pre-reqs in order. The interviewer is very kind and soft-spoken, don't sweat it!

Thank you for that update. I was reading previous posts about the TEAS, and just to be certain, the 60 or higher is the total score, not 60% on each part right? They just shut down campus classes in light of the chaos that has ensued over this coronavirus, but I believe staff will still be there. I imagine this will delay some things, but hopefully they will still continue the review process as planned, and we will all hear back within a reasonable time-frame!

Oh the wait is killing me!!

@sha17 60% overall! I asked multiple people to be sure of that LOL

On a seperate note I'm extremely curious about how classes/clinicals and our overall progression through the program will go if this COVID-19 situation doesn't calm down come August. What a time it is to be a nursing student!

Not to be insensitive to anyone's fears but is anyone a little bit excited to be some o the first wave of students being trained during a pandemic? Or am I the only crazy one? LOL

@sgel - I’m on the same page as you , curious as to how it will affect us more now as opposed to down the line - by then a new outbreak may hit - (hopefully not, but who knows!)

But, yes, I’ve said it for many years that I believe wanting to be a nurse is really a calling and I share the same sentiments as you that it would certainly be an adrenaline rush to be at the forefront of this! ☺️

It is 60% overall. I got in the 70s and she said it was above average. Also this Coronavirus will die down by beginning of April. Won’t last in the warm weather. And Wagner cancelled classes for the week but they’ll be doing online classes for now

Hi everyone. Does anyone happen to know when the next round of interviews will be? I had to resubmit a part of my app showing I’m enrolled in pre reqs because they didn’t receive it so it held up my whole application I just learned ? but hoping to get called for an interview soon!

@sha17 Glad to know I'm not alone LOL

@Nora M Don't take the wind out of my sails LOL JK I am curious to see if the change in temp/humidity/sunlight/people being outdoors will temper the spread as it does for influenza. I read somewhere that a few Harvard scientists have been tracking the spread of corona to warmer/more humid climates. I guess all we can do is wait, see, and hope for the best.

@nursekat6 Maybe late March/April? Honestly with the closing of colleges it's anyones guess. I would call and ask if there will be any delay in the next round of interviews due to whats going on.

I know first round was the first 2 weeks of March. I’d say call them and find out. I know classes were pushed to online for this week so I don’t know if it interferes with the interviewing process

I received an email today from Lynne Tyson: just sharing so that people know that the office is open, or at least working from home..

Thank you for the update ?

Thank you so much for the update. I was one of the first people to interview and I am really nervous this will delay things. They said end of March they would start sending out decisions, wondering if with all this chaos that has changed or business is carrying on as usual! ?‍♀️?
