Hello to all nurses ! I am new to this site and this is my first post. I just took my Licensing Exam Feb 16 ( two days ago) and computer shuts off at 85. :uhoh3: i graduated more than a year ago and i just dont feel like i remember much. so right now , i am having this post traumatic feeling , waiting whether i passed or failed the exam. :o I have like at least 3 weeks to wait for the result ..but its all "COOL" I am just really PROUD being a vocational nurse and a part of this great nursing career!!! ( not to mention that i am a guy in my 20's.. and single... hahahha )

hey son, we've both gotta think positive. believe me i am feeling the same way you did. here is a bit of encouragement though. a girl in my class who barely got through nursing school, didn't study took NCLEX early Feb. and I just got a call yesterday that she passed. she got like 185 questions. i am praying for both of us to pass. some of the nurses at the hospital told me most people pass but they all felt like there were going to fail. so we've just gotta keep positive. oh, that girl in my class i told you about, she had to wait exactly 3 weeks to get her letter. so i figure i have almost two more weeks to wait. i forgot what date did you take yours on. we can estimate when we should be hearing. going to run and go see a movie with my family now "Fireball". take my mind off the NCLEX for a while. take care and you are in my prayers every day!!!!!

Hello Mom! how was the movie? anyways, been raining all day .. which is really cool ! :D i have like two more weeks of waiting my result too.. i took the NCLEX one day ahead of you (Feb 15) have a safe week to you and God BLess

what can i say. we have to support each other and get through this ordeal. i think i had a dream last night where i was holding the mailman at gunpoint "just hand over my letter and you won't get hurt!!!!!"this waiting is tortuous. hey son, that movie "Firewall" was pretty good, kept you on the edge of your seat. it is pouring here in palmdale too. we were hoping for snow last night, but didn't get quite cold enough. just keep hoping we get the results early, one girl on this post from californai said she got her results in 12 days, but she took the NCLEX around Christmas time. keep looking up:) ): we will get through this. i'm praying for us every day. :)

i'm the lucky one, never had a son before. how are you doing? hope you are keeping busy while we wait :( i'm trying to. have to go in to my school today to find out about our IV cert class. you are in my prayers every day. take care. :)

Hello Mom!!! HOw's it going?? Its been two weeks now of waiting since I took the NCLEX. btw, What a weird dream you've had!!!:rotfl: talking about dream.. i had a gross dream last night!! A black spider bigger than a human size was trying to eat a man. the man was just screaming but he can't move cause he was all wrapped up with the spider web. .. i don't want to describe it anymore.. it was soo gross!!!! :uhoh3: Wish Joseph from the BIble was here to Interpret our dreams!!! "FIREWALL" sounds like an "NCLEX WORRY ERASER" kinda movie!! I should go see it!!! hehehee... I just said a prayer for both of us... whatever the result is, I will still Praise God for it! God answers prayers in 3 different ways. He says YES, NO and WAIT!!!

HI MOM!! IV THerapy class sounds like fun! I took that class a week after I graduated 15 months ago. you get to practice with your classmates on starting an IV which is really the fun part. (OUCH!!! needlesticks) hehehe..

I am keeping myself busy while waiting but at the moment , i am not working. The agency i used to work for called me and wants me to work with a patient for 12 hours 2 days a week with an LVN rate but it was kinda far.. like more than 50 miles away from where i live , so i turned down the offer. I might do a part time job "homecare" this coming monday. What about you mom, are you working right now?

just got my result today and it's NEGATIVE. :o:o:o I FAILED!!! well, that means i have to STUDY more...

oh son, my heart is breaking for you. i just don't understand. i have been praying for you, me and my other friend every day to pass this darn thing. i just came home from LA and got your message and I just feel sick to my stomach. i don't know what to say other than i guess you know what to expect next time. i think the test is so unfair if none of us feel good about it and we all felt like we failed. this wait does not help matters any. but you can do this i know you can, just get another date and go do it. what books did you study? i did delmar, mosby and the ncsbn extension course on line. not sure any of them helped me after taking that thing. you've just gotta do it again and you'll pass it, i know you will. i'm so scared to get my results too now. how are you doing? can you still work while you are waiting to take it again? i am going to continue to pray every day that you will pass next time. i am here for you if you need to talk. i know you can do this. keep you head up high. :) :)

Thanks a lot MOM!!! i knew that I had only 40% chances of me passing that NCLEX..not to mention that i graduated 15 months ago.. so its been more than a year now and also I have a very poor study habits , which i know , i have to improve so i will make it the second time.. or the third..and the fourth.. hahaha.. I have all the review books but like i said before, i only read around 1,000 questions and studied the Cardio system only. Then, read 100 respiratory questions the night before examination . I had only 3 hours of sleep before taking the exam. THought it was going to work.. but not really. :nono: Believe me, I really wanna pass . but on the other hand, i knew i did very poorly. Don't worry about it, i am going to be just fine, by FAILING, it gives me MORE determination to Pass the NCLEX. by the way, I have 4 chances a year to pass it!!! i can take the NCLEX once in every 3 months!!! hehehhe...;)

MY prayers are with you MOM! I hope you had fun in LA.

hi son, i just came back from church and i prayed for God to give you the strength and determination to go take that thing again and pass it next time. I have faith in you and I know you can do this. Sometimes I guess our faith gets really tested like this time :(. i'm thinking that it was not your fault just maybe waiting too long after graduation to take the darn thing. there's only so much that can stick to our brains after that long. i say, regroup when you feel up to it and drag the books out and your calendar and set up a study plan (so many hours per day, so many questions per day) so you will make it when you take it again. i know you expressed to me you had some doubts about your studying before the test, so now you know what you need to do. i'm so sorry you have to go through this again, but you have a great attitude and i know you will make it:) :) :). i was so impressed by what you said about praising God no matter the outcome. i know he will honor you as you have honored him. you will make a great nurse and i know you are already making a difference in what you do now. so just try and look at this as a small bump in the road on the way to your goal, which you will leap over and reach. i know you will. "The world is filled with great people, you're one of them"! Remember this, celebrate all the progress you've made, forget the setbacks. Tell yourself you can do something and you can. Mistakes are just practice on the way to sucess. You are in my thoughts and prayers each day. :) :) your adopted mom :)
