Vocational/practical Nurse And Very Proud!!!!!

Published

Hello to all nurses ! I am new to this site and this is my first post. I just took my Licensing Exam Feb 16 ( two days ago) and computer shuts off at 85. :uhoh3: i graduated more than a year ago and i just dont feel like i remember much. so right now , i am having this post traumatic feeling , waiting whether i passed or failed the exam. :o I have like at least 3 weeks to wait for the result ..but its all "COOL" I am just really PROUD being a vocational nurse and a part of this great nursing career!!! ( not to mention that i am a guy in my 20's.. and single... hahahha )

hey son, was so glad to hear from you. was getting worried. i felt bad posting that i had passed that darn test after all you went through. but i know you will pass the next go round. i am praying for you every day!! hey i used to love tennis too, but have not played in a while. i do like to watch it on tv though. remember what i told you about just putting aside that study time each day and just stay committed to ("i'm going to do so many questions each day and read the rationales"), review your pharmacology and your prioritization and also cultural. that seems to be what i got and also my other three friends. just go forward and don't look back. many others have to take it again, so don't feel bad. you may want to look at the NCSBN website. i did the online program, it costs $49 for three weeks, but it was very thorough. it will take you 80 hours to complete. but they write the NCLEX so i felt it was most closely related to the test. my nursing instructor was from the phillipines and so is one of my best friends in my class. hope you have a great week. we may get snow up here they say. will let you know how the interview goes. take care. MOM

hello mom.. how are you doing? how was your interview go? you mention about the online program on NCSBN.. is that a Review Study program for the NCLEX and cost only $49? i sure would like to know more details about it from you. thanks

hi son, well we got snow this weekend and now the builders are tearing my house apart as we somehow got owls living in the rafters in the ceilings so had to move my 21 year old out of her room and they have taken down the walls in her room, tomorrow the garage gets partially destroyed, what a mess. major health hazard so they have had the environmental agency out here too. okay go to the website NCSBN.org and you will see a learning extension, click on that and you can subscribe for three weeks or longer (3 weeks was $49). it goes through your entire nursing program, pharmacology, gives you a couple thousand questions (tests). there is an initial test you do to see where you are at. it will take you 80 hrs. to go through the whole program. but out of all the things i studied (Delmars, Mosby's, essentials of pharmacology) i would say that program helped most. it was the closest to the NCLEX. also NCSBN writes the NCLEX exam so that's why i think it is a good source. two of my friends and i used it and we all passed. so i think it will help you too. you can go to whatever system you need to study and then take the quizes afterwards. they are hard like the NCLEX. other than that, just know your priorities ABCs and review cultural in your books. i will help you any way i can, just let me know. you are going to pass next time. i am praying for you and so is my dad. i told him about you. my interview at the hospital is tomorrow, will let you know how it goes. take care. MOM

hello mom! how did your interview go? i hope it went great. good to hear that you got some snow last week end. we had some snow last week end too(but not much) and saturday was just really really cold. i bet your house will look brand new once the renovation is done. i will surely take that online NCLEX review you were telling me about. maybe it will be better to take it like 3 weeks before i will take the exam but prior to that, i will read some of my NCLEX books. Regards to you and your family. GOd BLess

hey son, how are you doing? i'm okay, except for all the construction going on in my house. they got the owl family out and they are safe at a veternary hospital. they were barn owls with the big heart shaped face. the interview at the hospital went pretty well i guess. just waiting for their decision. may be two weeks before i hear. would be the best spot for me even though the pay is bad as i could still go to school. sounds like you are on track with your studying. i know if you keep on track you will pass next time. i really think that online NCSBN review is best. and yes i would do it three weeks before (i did it exactly three weeks before) unless you want to buy more weeks (not sure the cost). then just keep doing questions every day. try and do at least four hours a day. let me know when your test date is. take care.
