Im creating this thread for any students who have applied to any nursing schools in BC for sept 2015 intake. Ive applied to various schools around the province, so now im just waiting. I have a positivish energy towards acceptance but who knows. Im just wondering if there is anyone else out there is who in the same boat? Particularly, does anyone know anything specific to TRU, VIU or CNC for this year? Thanks !
Hi!
I was in contact with Donna to really confirm how VIU is seeing my grades, it is a good thing I did because I was upgrading my grade 12 English which I did not end up needing to do because my English was already showing for them as an A+! I did not realize my A in my University children's literature course would bump up my English 12 mark.
rkd101 I also find it crazy that a 4.0 was wait-listed! I wish they would reveal how they decide on a group of people that have the same GPA. They must have some kind of system to determine within the group at the bottom level of being accepted, of the people who have the same GPA who gets accepted and who gets wait-listed. I am not sure if it would be based on when you applied that seems pretty unfair to me. Have you heard of this being the system from somewhere/someone? I would guess that it may be determined by amount of post secondary education? I know when I spoke to one of VIU's advisers he mentioned that my first degree would help me, not sure if he just meant with bumping up some of my high school marks or with that and other things...
VictoriaTracey I am also excited to get going with things, I only applied to VIU. I currently live in Nanaimo and wanted to stay here because of my job. I have not been accepted yet. I am quite hopeful, but it is still quite nerve racking only applying to one school. I will definitely post on here when/if I get my letter! I read the applicants last year heard back by the end of April, so max 7 weeks until we all find out about VIU!
I have not heard anything back yet... I know that grades must be submitted by the end of month. I am assuming following that people will start to hear back. I would guess people high up on the acceptance list would hear back in the first few weeks of April, and the people on the wait list would hear back by the end of the month type of thing.
Have you heard back from any other schools you have applied to? Is this your first year applying to nursing programs?

Hey lkitchener
I have not been in contact with Donna Kist. I am not really to sure what to as her exactly haha. But I am just keeping my fingers crossed. Which ever school I get accepted too I will take gladly! I am just really excited to get going on my nursing education. What schools have you applied to or have you been accepted already? Thanks!
