  1. Got a call today and they offered me a spot at VIU!!! Guess I'll be heading to Nanaimo instead of Kamloops. Whoo. See ya'll soon!
  2. They sent acceptance letters to all their Nursing Program applicants. So then the retraction letters were emailed to around 400 that evening saying it was a mistake. This was last Thursday. Just a computer error on the University's system but I can feel for the people that were "accepted" then Informed that they weren't.
  3. Thanks rkd101! ! TRU Made a huge error in their admission notices but fortunately I was one of the accepted.
  4. Just got into TRU! They sent me an email today. Heeelllo nursing school
  5. Ya ,rkd101, it is completely unfair but just going to keep trying. I won't stop I've applied at UFV, KPU, VIU, and TRU for this September. I feel good about TRU because they do require a 2 page essay and also UFV because they have a comprehensive application point system, so not just GPA. What schools are you going for?
  6. I know, rkd101, I've upgraded for many years and couple that with working full-time, that takes many years to complete. I have pretty much have redone my grade 11 and 12. The frustrating part and I guess the reason I call nursing programs a lottery system now is that they are extremely competitive. I worked really hard to get a 96% in grade 12 math (I have similar grades in chem, bio etc) and applied to Mount Royal University in Calgary. I was listed as 'not academically competitive'. I obviously was stumped. I called right away to clarify what they needed. The advisor sympathized and said it was crazy. What she suggested and, what other people are doing, is to upgrade their A- and A to A+. It is so hard not to be discouraged by the time and stress it has taken just to get into nursing.
  7. Yes. I have applied to VIU, UFV, TRU, and KPU for September 2015. I have applied only to UFV prior for their Jan 2015 intake but did not get in. I have a 3.7gpa for the requirement courses and have worked as a care aide for 10 years now. People ask what it takes to get into a nursing school and it seriously feels like a lottery system. I'm hoping for TRU and believe it's my best bet. Most want the nicer climates, eg. Nanaimo, Vancouver so the application numbers are a lot higher. Best of luck
  8. Check your student email? I got an email today - not accepted Have to improved my academic standing. Maybe they're just sending rejections first?? On to the next intake for me.... Good luck to the rest study hard :)
  9. Literally the longest couple weeks ever...
  10. My interviewer mentioned that the letters will be sent out for November 14th. So you should hear in or around then :)
  11. Mine is on Friday, Oct 24. Lots of time to think....lol How was the info session?! Packed full?? (Don't mention the essay - haven't written mine yet)
  12. Got the email as well
  13. Yes. Typically they are in the evening. I'd contact M.P. when you receive the time and it doesn't work for you. I most likely will be writing my essay on the same day as the interview (because I don't live locally [Calgary]).
  14. I called the health department this afternoon. Looks like the info sessions will be held Oct 7 - not confirmed though. The waiting is tough
  15. Mine says 'ready for review' as well. However, the last letter they sent, said it was complete and to wait to info session dates....and wait....and wait....
