  1. Congrats lkitchener, surf_gal, WDanae and to many others :)!! This is so exciting!
  2. im so glad i found this page! i applied to 3 programs and 2 of which i should hear at the end of this month - but their really competitive so i dont know if i will get in, and the 3rd school i hear back in the middle of May. Its tough going through this waiting period and a lot of people tell me to 'enjoy this time while i have it' , but im very hesitant about what the letters may say. I guess in the mean time to stay busy, i go to work and by the end of the day, i am so exhausted that i go to sleep - which makes the day go faster. Then on the days off, i guess i watch shows or you could start a tv series. Or keep yourself busy by going out with friends to a movie, or a walk around the block, or whatever u like. :)
  3. I was too wondering if anyone had heard anything from any schools either... and if they would not mind, please post! :) Just another week then we will be into April and then the anxious stalking-by-the-mailbox begins. haha
  4. I love the positivity here :) ! Wow thats crazy how a that high of a gpa was put on the waitlist! I was wondering for a school like VIU and maybe others, because its so competitive, they probably catagorize applicants according to when the applied too right? Like for example (is exaggerated) if all the applicants - like theres 72 seats right, and then say 72 applicants and the 18 applicants on waitlist altogether had gpa of 4.0 - then do you think that the school would pick applicants accordingly to when they applied? This seems like an odd question and may be silly, but it was one of those things i thought about to distract myself from pulling all my hair out with this waiting game. LOL! :)
  5. WDanae: Hello, I am totally shocked that Mount Royal University in Calgary would list you as "not academically competitive"! Thats not fair, as the grade to me is one of the best of the best! The whole selecting applicant system seriously puzzles me at times. I do hope you get selected into a nursing program very very soon, because i feel like the program should see how much time you have dedicated in going above and beyond their requirements. Are you applying to other schools around BC?
  6. In some ways, i find it nice that VIU goes off of gpa and highschool grades only - but yes it does open to more competition which is very scary. I'm not sure if my gpa enters the competition, but i have upgraded to the last thread, and i am so done with upgrading - do not want to have to do it again, im begging. (haha) . I guess your right in that it does not sound like VIU will accept in the lottery system. I also recall from previous forums and threads that they may have a waitlist system of 18 people? I am not 100% sure if they will do it for this term, but that would be nice because even if i was not accepted, i would atleast want to be on this waitlist. Anything other than rejection. The advisors at VIU have been really helpful, i cannot stress how helpful they have been. They always reply to any concerns and questions that i have in a proper time manner.
  7. What classes/entrance exams do you have left? Technically i am all finished. But writing the A&P 2 exam in mid march. The schools i applied for do not require an entrance exam. When will you begin submitting applications?ive already submitted all my applicants at the end of last year. Now i am just working and waiting. How many programs will you be applying to? I have applied to 3 programsHave you already been accepted into a program? Not yet. Not until beginning to mid April.
  8. Congrats!! Do you mind me asking what school you applied to? Thank you :)
  9. I agree with you, i too feel sometimes the selection system is like a lottery system. It can seem unfair at times, but i do hope that with applying to more than just one school, atleast there is a greater to be accepted? You have a high gpa :) and hopefully we all get accepted into schools ! Im eager for letters to come, but at the same time i fear it.
  10. Hi Rayanne203, Sorry to hear about Douglas, im sure that sucks to hear the news after you have spent a whole year trying. I have not applied to Douglas or BCIT but i have heard that it is quite competitive. Just curious, have you tried to apply to other schools in the area? Best wishes though!
  11. Im creating this thread for any students who have applied to any nursing schools in BC for sept 2015 intake. Ive applied to various schools around the province, so now im just waiting. I have a positivish energy towards acceptance but who knows. Im just wondering if there is anyone else out there is who in the same boat? Particularly, does anyone know anything specific to TRU, VIU or CNC for this year? Thanks !
  12. im really bummed as well.. i got my letter of rejection today as well. however it said that im a waitlist..? did anyone else get that too? the letter didnt say what place of waitlist of anything so im still confused and i dont relle know what to do from here.. i relle just want to call the nursing ppl and ask my thousands of questions! sucks that we have to wait till the 20th. thought they will be filled with phone calls:/ hm
  13. ok dokes, thanks everyone :) hope the rest of the day is a little bit more calm and try to get some sunshine..that sure took my mind of things!
