Visa Worries

Published

Our family was interviewed last August 2005 at the US Embassy in Manila. My wife and I got our visas two days after the interview. I am worried because we have not yet received the visas of our children and it's already been almost a month since our interview. During the interview, we were informed that our documents are complete and in order. The consul did not ask any additional documents from us so we assumed that everything was ok. Upon inquiry at the embassy, I was told that they are still processing the visas of my kids. I am wondering why our visas were not processed/released at the same time and why it's taking them so long to process/release the visa of my kids. Does anybody in this forum experienced or is experiencing the same thing? Can anybody comment on this? A reply will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

dear suzanne,dhel,dale,rep,shaider and everyone,

would you have any idea regarding the documents that are required from immigrant nurses at the airport immigration? i do understand that we will have to bring our xray films but aside from that, is there anything still that we have to present? my agency told me that id be leaving on january,2006, but there's a family occasion in NJ that i am hoping i could attend to this October, is it okay if i leave next month already and go straight to NJ?are the people in the immigration particular as to the point of entry of immigrant nurses? i hope you can help me on this one. Thank you so much!

Ms.Nightingale

Point of entry is not a problem as long as all your documents are complete. To know more about the Immigration process and queries you have to attend a seminar at the Commission on Filipino Overseas (CFO). It is a requirement of our government for first time immigrants like you. You can't go out of the country without their sticker in your passport and the immigration bureau at the airport will look at it. The seminar fee is P 250.00. Try calling these numbers ( Manila Office) 561-8321 ext. 101, 103,104,105. Good Luck !!!

Which requirements? The medical or the Visa Screen Certificate?

I forwarded the my lacking documents: medical and job letter offer last Aug. 10. Still no Visa.

hi jenspec, would you mind if I ask who was the counsul in your letter. I have a friend who has the same problem like you when she verified it, she found out that the counsul who handles her case was on leave that is why her papers was still not reviewed. When was your interview anyway?

To all of you guys, is it normal to have delayed visa issuance? Eventhough all documents was already complete.

It is very common, especially with missing those two things. Especially the job offer letter, etc. Depending on the person who is doing your processing, their first concern is going to be to those who have everything done and a completed file when they get there. There is no time frame that will be given that it has to be done by.

Sorry, but none of us can offer any other information in this. It is extremely important, especially right now, that all files be 100% complete when you go for your interview.

dear suzanne,

hello! my agency's head office is in Tennessee and their client hospitals are from Mississippi,Texas,Arkansas and South Carolina. since my fiance is now working in one of the hospitals in Greenwood,MS, it isnt impossible that I will be going there too.can u share with me some informations about this state? I'd greatly appreciate it.thanks a lot! :)

Ms.Nightingale

Can I ask which agency that you are with? Glad to hear the news for you, but I still don't like the idea that you have no idea of where you are going and are at the mercy of the your agency.

Yeah...what if there is no available job for you when you get there?

I cant remember the name of the counsul. I was interviewed last July 17 and I was able to forward my lacking documents Aug. 10. I hope they'll be able to review my papers as soon as possible, if there will be delays like this maybe they could atleast inform us it really is such an agony waiting and waiting and waiting....

I agree, The waiting is unbearable. Let us look on the bright side, you will still get your visa even though it is delayed.
