George Mason Traditional Nursing 2018

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

I am applying to George Mason Nursing (Traditional) for the year 2018! I wanted to start a forum because I didn't see any for this year! Does anyone have any idea how competitive the program is? I am taking be HESI on the 11th and I am so nervous about the A&P section of the test.

Hey Meg,

When I went to the info session, they said that they factor in the entire application, such as resume, essay, and the video. If your grades are excellent, then you shouldn't have to worry about the academics part. How well did you think you did on the resume/essay/video?

Hey,

I thought my resume, essay, and video were fairly strong. I spent hours recording and re-recording my video trying to make it perfect. But everyone's point of view is subjective and I am probably very biased towards myself. I'm sure those who were accepted had stronger applications than mine and I understand that. I'm just hoping I can get accepted soon.

Hi Meg, I hope that you will receive good news soon. Last Friday is the deadline to accept the Nursing Admission Offer. I think that some students, such as one of my friend, would decline it to accept another offer. Then, I hope you will have more chance to get in. Good luck!

Yeah, we're rooting for you Meg! :)

Best of luck.Please update us.

Hey Meg, I was reading the 2014 ABSN forum, and someone who was also waitlisted got taken off on May 14th.

That year GMU sent the first round of letters around March 29th which is close to this time around.

That person also said that GMU called and sent her an email with a time frame in which they wanted to hear back from her. I'd keep monitoring your email for now.

Hope it works out for you 😊

Hi Meg,

I also know a freind of mine who got waitlisted and then get accepted, after giving up. So, I really hope and pray that the same thing happens to you. I believe that you are a strong candidate, and the fact that you got waitlisted is a prove to that. Mostly it's a matter of space why you got waitlisted and other applicants might have had some clinical experience along with strong Academic background. incase you did not have any clinical experience such as working as a clinical Technician. I Wish you all best.

I got into their transfer bsn program for this fall of 2018 and I had a cumulative HESI score of 89.2 and my GPA is 3.586

Congrats Thunderstorm56!

Can't wait to see you all there.

Did you guys attend the transfer orientation that was the 8th of this month?

I met one of you there who knew about allnurses, but she was at the accelerated nursing program.

Does anyone want to start an FB group?

I did. I met another nursing student but he was doing accelerated as well. I agree we should make a 2018 traditional bsn fb page.

Hey 98485,

I got your PMs but allnurses says I cannot send PMs until I have at least 15 posts. I'm down for the group chat you mentioned, send me your info please and we can talk from there. I look forward to nursing school with you and everybody on this board!
