Just completed my video interview, it was defiantly nerve-racking, but I did my best and I am happy to be done! excited to hear back about final decisions in a few weeks! Best of luck to everyone.

Did the mention a specific date that they would be sending out decisions?

At the end of the interview, they said we should know by July 1st but if anything changes they'll update their facebook page

Same! Watching yourself talk is odd haha. All the best to everyone!

For those of you who interviewed, do you feel good about it? I think that my answers were fine but recording was so nerve racking I definitely choked a few times LOL

I think every little thing matters. They also don’t require CCRN but I bet everybody has it.

Those who got interviews, could you give us any advice or tips that you think helped you get the interview?

I am sure it's a confluence of experiences in and out of the hospital, skills, certs, and letter of interest. You must diversify your portfolio! ?  This is the if not one of the highest ranked programs in the nation. Not only can they not afford to rank us based purely on one quality, in order to create a more diverse cohort, they need to rank based on a number of qualities. That's why I'd argue that 10 years of experience doesn't place you above someone with 3 years of experience necessarily. So firstly, you should do things that are of interest to you because naturally you will do well in them and will be able to discuss them. Find unique nursing experiences that make you unique - you will have the opportunity to share those unique experiences in your letter and your interview. Certifications, in my head,  are check boxes at this point. You must have CCRN and ideally other sub-specialty certs that show your dedication to EBM/EBP. What do you do on your unit other than charge nurse, precept? What organizations are you a part of in and out of hospital? What do you do outside of the hospital that shows you contribute to the greater good? Hobbies that highlight your drive and interests? This is my first time applying - fortunately managed an interview. This is not over yet for me, but my sense is that you don't have to be perfect, but you must be diverse with emotional intellect and a moderately strong communicator (I'm willing to bet. I'm only guessing. My undegrad GPA was meh 3.3. Nurse GPA was good.) It takes so much work to even submit an application! Wishing the best to everyone with interviews and those applying again!

Hey! Just wondering if anyone in here applied and interviewed for the Roanoke location? Also, anyone know how many people were offered interviews?

I’ve looked everywhere to see how many interviews were offered online. I even looked at stats from other programs and I can’t seem to find a number. I’m assuming they offered 70-80 interviews then they cut that down to 50 spots (for every location).

I don’t have stats as great as yours and was invited for an interview. I personally think a strong why for your personal statement, outside activities and hobbies, and enthusiastic letters of recommendation can help. I only have 3.49 GPA, CCRN and teach classes at my hospital. A strong why for your personal statement will help you get through the gambit of CRNA school while showing your personality. Outside activities will show you’re a well rounded individual. I personally think you’re an excellent candidate but try to show your more than just a high GPA and I’m sure you will get an interview somewhere. Also you mentioned you definitely think you won’t get in somewhere. You must believe in yourself because CRNA school is hell. I have no idea who you are but you can be an excellent CRNA in your future. Let your No’s fuel you to come back better and stronger until you get your yes

A little late, and not to sound defensive, but: I have extensive volunteer and extracurricular experience, letters of recommendation from folks that I know very well (another school had actually given me the ratings of my letters and gave them altogether 29/30), and not sure where you read this, but I never said I didn't think I'd get in anywhere. I know for a fact I'll get in somewhere, I'm confident in myself and my abilities, and I interview well. I'm writing it off as a fluke. Rejections don't define anyone.

Just got my acceptance letter!! Good luck to everyone out there!
