Hey guys! I've spoken with some current students about working during the Spring and Summer and they say it's very manageable as the first two semesters are comparatively light in regards to workload and mostly online. That being said, what do you all intend to do for employment during this time? I'm considering taking a few travel assignments to put some money back

Did they say it was manageable working full time? I don’t want to commit to a contract and not be able to do it. Thanks for reaching out to them!

I’m currently travel nursing and planning on taking contracts through the first semester and then maybe taking a break after. But it’s also tempting to stop working earlier…

One of the SRNAs said that he traveled during the first two semesters and highly recommended it. I assume it was full time but I'm not 100%. He said that it's more or less busy work at first. I believe he's a third year so things may have changed a bit since then but likely not too much.

Has anyone who was waitlisted (at any of the locations) heard anything further yet?

Yep, NOVA-based NA2 here and I worked full time through July of first year and allowed myself to have a few weeks off to relax before Fall term started. This is very doable and the administration encourages it! It really does help develop time management skills that you will need as you move forward in the program and are required to be on campus and progress into the OR. I also know some of us still pick up shifts PRN at our prior gigs every now and then (sometimes holidays, weekends and on our short breaks). Bedside nursing staffing is still so tenuous, you'd be surprised how many places you can stay on and work very minimally and they're happy to have you!

Does anyone know when they will be sending out emails to place a deposit for your spot? I thought they said early August but just wanted to confirm if anyone had heard anything else.
