:typingi'm getting ready to start a new job as an rn at ben taub in a few days. i was interested if anyone here has any experience working at this hospital. i'm just looking for personal opinions/observations about this facility...staff morale, working conditions, pay rates, etc.
i'm very excited about the position and cannot wait to get started, but at the same time, i can't help but to be interested in the experiences of others.

Hello!
While I have not officially worked there, I did have the opportunity to do a clinical rotation at Ben Taub last semester. I was on a med surg floor and I had a really great experience. The patient load is extremely culturally diversified and we often had to use translators. The nurses that I got to shadow were awesome. Some of them were really helpful in giving us pointers and tips on how to best do things and really great about allowing us to follow along as they did procedures that we had not seen before. Even though all the nurses were busy (with about 6 patients each), they still found ways to have fun and keep laughing through it all.
Best of luck with your new job!

No personal experience, but every nurse I know who has worked there says its a great experience, and they've loved it.
