Currently back in school for my RN..I’m also working at a nursing home near my home..also I’ll send the PP later on..have a busy day today..I think they pretty much use the same PPts for the most part..I know there is a new A&P instructor so I’m not sure if she’s using the same PPTS the old instructor that I had used.
@BMP1117 Ahh congrats on your RN road! Its always nice to hear when to when someone go back school for RN. It’s inspiring! ?
Anyway, Do you mind to share in what school do you go for RN and how many classes you have to take for RN requirements etc?
Thank you in advance
Most nursing schools require u to take Anatomy 1, Anatomy 2, College algebra, Psychology 101, any social science class, Microbiology and Chemistry 1 before you can apply to the nursing program those are the prerequisites some associates programs do t require U to take Chemistry but there are so many different schools some may require U to take more or fewer courses so u have to look on The schools online website or u can. Download the school online course catalog and it lists all the classes you need for the nursing program
Private colleges might cost alot but if you really need to complete yout RN quickly then it might be worth it to borrow student loans to pay for the expensive private college but student loan interest can double the money u owe if u owe 60k in student loans when u graduate from RN school after 3yrs U may owe more than 100k but if your smart u will make sure U work hard the year after u graduate and pay off that 60k fast before the interest gets crazy high but if u go to a private school it would be smart to take all your prerequisite classes at a cheaper community college
I know some 2year community college RN programs require u to take only 6 nursing classes and then you graduate with your RN most community colleges if u have your LPN they allow U take a test an u can skip the 1st nursing class so U only have to take 5 nursing classes at Nassau community College if u had a 90 average in LPN school u don't have to take the test they just allow u to skip the first nursing course called Nursing 101. I am not In RN school so I am sure Rose would rather here from someone who is in RN school but I just wanted to give you some Information until the RN student is able to respond to you best regards@Rose_P
No I didn't say u can skip a test I said u can skip a Class U can skip 1 of the nursing classes bc you already have a LPN license you can skip the first nursing CLASS called "nursing 101"
The test they give u @nursingcand to skip this class it's Not a TEAS test or a HESI test this test is created BY Whichever school that your applying to remember not All school allow u to take the test to skip the class
The test is created by the school so the test doesn't have a name
The test consists of multiple choice nursing questions its not math an science its stuff U learned in lpn school like Maslows law etc. AND the other half of the test is a clinical portion which consists of u showing the teacher that u know how to change a patient while there in the bed, make the bed while the pt is in the bed an other stuff u learned in lpn school if u want to know what will be on the test u have to call the schools nursing dept and ask them
