Hi All,
I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.
What are the Teachers like?
What are the required books?
Is the program as intense as they say?
Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?
Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?
Do they provide job Placement at the end???
Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!
thanks nymom...i just found that out today...so i just came home from the exam..to me it seemed easy but im crossing my fingers on that...to the ppl that havent took the exam yet well...everyone was right about the exam..its a peice of cake..math was easy..remember to know your rules on integers, fractions, and percent.. thats basically all i had on the exam.oh and 1 factoring problem which i think a 6th grader could do cause i saw my girlfriends daughter doing it for homework and shes in the 6th grade..as far as the vocab who cares??? its either you know it or you dont..nothing too much to stress about...the comprehnsion part well if you can read faster than me which is pretty slow you can finish the exam cause i did and i didnt think i would...good luck too all and im gonna go to sleep till tomorrow...thanks everyone for their post cause it helped me eliminate what i didnt have to study for...
No actually I read it from TRINIANGEL.But AKANNI was very helpful as well. And Personally, I would not opt for a sponsorship b/c they pay rate is lower than the starting salary for a LPN. And I would not want to feel like I am obligated to work some where for 2 years. AKANNI choose that route b/c she has her BA and she does not qualify for financial aid and she didnt want to take a loan for LPN school when she will have to take out a loan for RN school.
Yes that is the reason why I did it and my pay rate is the same as any brand new nurse at my facility......so trust me when I tell you SNYA doesn't take the money out of your pay. I'm at a 1199 facility and you can work part time, full time, or per diem as long as it's for 2 years. There are 65 facilities on the list so if you don't like one, you can request to go to another one. Best of luck...SNYA and VEEB are both great!

Also I want to add, March 15 will make exactly four months since I've been working at my facility. Some of my classmates have just passed the boards and are hunting for jobs. Quite a few are not working yet because they don't want LTC but LTC is for LPNs....I'm sorry to say it but it's the truth. It is hard to get into a hospital as a new grad LPN unless you have a hook up or you will be in the clinic. I'm seeing it myself with my own two eyes. Don't limit what you can have today because you are looking at 2 years from now. You may just hurt yourself and your pocket. Remember you will need money for the RN. LTC is not for everyone but I've met LPNs who have been doing it for years and years......so it's not a bad place to start. If you go to school for the RN, you can always do your SNYA commitment part time or per diem. I'm not selling SNYA but many of my classmates looked at the 2 years and ran and regretted it later.

than you so much for this information I will look into this because I do not want to have loans up my ass. And 2 years is not a long time especially is you have the option of parttime or per diem and they still pay for school . . . . .do you kno if you can work parttime for that facility and have another job or is it a conflict of interest.
