VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I've only done volunteer work in a hospital it was not paid so maybe I need to find a job before I apply for this grant??

You probably wouldnt qualify. I think you have to have at least 6 months experience.

oh ok thanks the website says 3-6 months but thanks so much for the info. . . . is that is only program that offers the same tuition payment or do the have others damn didnt wanna be in any serious school debt until I was going for my master's but like the song says "You can't always get what you want" llolol

As the was reading thru the website I see that the are funded by the state I was accepted to a free lpn program through laguardia community college its a special program that many do not know about but htey 2 ar funded by the state I was told that this is the last year that funding will be given because of the economy so I sooo mad I dont qualify for snya but I'm supose to start classes for laguardia on March 9th but if I get my test results back before then it could change everything. I just dont like that campus lololol there is no campus just buildings on different blocks so thats one reason and the other is they have a really low rate of passing the nclex its like 74% so I didnt wanna take my chances with them but they pay for everything you books, tuition everything what do you thin about that??

This is stressful already lol I really need these results back asap! This will help figure out a lot but overall I rather pay for veeb knowing I'm going to get the best and feel well prepared for the nclex than go to school for free and possibly fail.

Okay see what u saying. I plan on going to rn school right after veeb's to. I was looking in to helen huld( the 1 year rn program) after graduating from there, work a hospital(1199 or tuition reimbursement ) and have the hospital pay for me to go to college to get my ba in nursing. I not trying to take loans for college. I rather pay back the loan from veeb's than a college loan. But every ones situation is different. You are kinda in the same boat as akinni. I looked into adelphi they have one of the best nursing programs in the country. I will have to make a decision between molloy and adelphia college. We just have to keep our faith in god and stick to our goals!!!!!! Its going to take hard work but we all can doit!!!! Its such a lucrative career and so many avenues you can choose. I hope to see everyone on this thread in sept.tgif !!!!! Have a nice weekend

hey guys, i guess nobody recieved their results yet, do u guys think thats a good thing? because maybe they send peoples results back that failed already, what do u guys think? im just trying to stay positive lol...

no not yet. i took my test on 2/5, she said we will have our results in 1 month. if i dont rcv my results by the end of the first week in march, then i will call... I just want to get the process started. The down payment, physical, orientation. Being that i have to go to veeb's on mon. b/c my addrs was not correct on my DL, i have to show them the new one I recvd today, i will ask when should we recv our results...

Thanks for the update, b/c u always here things but its good to hear it from someone who is actually in the program b/c that eliminates all the rumours . I will go on the website.u said we can work per diem or part time that would be excellent for me b/c i plan on going to helen fuld 1 yr rn program and i heard its very intense so i would work p/t or per diem anyway. And u said its 1199 thats what i was looking for b/c they will pay for me to go to college to get my ba .... So by the way its looking i wont have to take a loan for veebs or college. I have a question will they pay the 1500.00 down payment being that it is going towards your tuition ???

it was stated during the test that no financial aid 1199 nothing pays the 1500.00 that has to come directly from the student for the seat to be held all the 1199 students thought they were in the clear for all expense and some were sadly disappointed

what the heck where are them exam scores they should get them out since the students are off this week from school I need to know its driving me crazy!

I can't find the the white paper with the info on what to bring for the test. I know a blank money order for the ant $175.00 my id and?? App right
