VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

Do you think that Veeb will require a laptop, or if we will have to type up paper and such?

No actually I read it from TRINIANGEL.But AKANNI was very helpful as well. And Personally, I would not opt for a sponsorship b/c they pay rate is lower than the starting salary for a LPN. And I would not want to feel like I am obligated to work some where for 2 years. AKANNI choose that route b/c she has her BA and she does not qualify for financial aid and she didnt want to take a loan for LPN school when she will have to take out a loan for RN school.

Wowww.. I am very impressed to witness how much interactions the Veeb's topic has. You guys remind me last year when i was prepared myself to get into the program..lolll

Best of luck ...

hey everybody...i just got home from work and im so tired and i dont feel like studying..im getting nervous about the test tomorrow..anyone else taking the test tomorrow??or am i gonna be the only one in this thread there..lol...how far is the parking the building..oh yea did they do any interviews and what did they ask you..im not good on interviews..i get real nervous and i dont know what to say...but that should be the least of my problems right..well any tips for tomorrow will give me good reassurance that ill do good..thanks every 1..

driven, I understand i has my a.s in community health and education and I to do not wanna take out a lpn loan I dont qualify for financial aid and I intend to go for my rn immediately after so its just an option for those who intend to further there education but do not want any ongoing financial debt I am stable enough to pay out of pocket for veeb but if i wanted to go to adelphi afterwards I need another 30,000 so it is something to think about. But thanks on your advice I might have to take less pay and work parttime and in those 2 years earn my rn debt free or take out a not so overwhelming loan but thanks you gave me alot to think about!:nuke:

so be16 can you tell us anyhting about the program that we can look foward to . . . . .how long did it take before you got you exams and how soon could you pay the deposit money to hold your seat??

Do you think that Veeb will require a laptop, or if we will have to type up paper and such?

You don't really need a laptop, but it is very beneficial. VEEB classroom grades are all based on testing, but each clinical rotation requires a paper or two, and lets just say some instructors are partial towards typing.

I'm not exactly sure about the VEEB policy about using laptops during class, but I'm thinking about bringing one now since my handwriting gets sloppy at times and during 2nd semester the notes are dictated at a much faster pace compared to 1st which seemed slow at times.

And its not like college, where they'll post notes online, everything is dictated.

for the people who took the exam did they do the interviews..and also what time did you finished the exam..

I was looking for a job that would be benifical to me while attending veeb. I checked into the local hospitals and a few nursing homes but the majority want some type of degree or pior experience which I have neither. And most doctors office are looking for a 9-5 person which will conflict with me going to veeb. Am I not looking in the right places or I just can't get these jobs???

Try in home care b/c they usually have a situation w/c may or may not need someone to pick up the slack from the nurse or if a family member is doing it. Also, did you say you have no experience as a CNA (certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aid). In the case that you do not, you may not be able to that, but if you did it could be very good because it offers more flexibility.

Good Luck and keep us posted.:twocents:

they dont interview on the day of the exam..the test started like at 10:30am and i was out at like 1:30pm..

hey malenurse, how are u feeling about the test? i'm sure you will do great!!!!
