VEEB LPN Program (info request)

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

If you don't need to go through our Nelson-Denny online course, click here for basic information about the Nelson-Denny test.

Our Nelson-Denny course is heavily focused on "self-help." Here's why:

A) If you are intimately involved in both structuring and completing your Nelson-Denny test preparation, you will have a better understanding of the experience and reap better Nelson-Denny results and

B) We recognize that there is great diversity in learning styles. By leaving the Nelson-Denny test preparation solution in a more open, relaxed format, we believe we can make the diversity in learning styles a strength rather than a weakness.

We have provided the Nelson-Denny resources and the tools. The rest is up to you- the best teacher is the person who knows you best- YOU!

Here are the recommended steps you should take in using our modular test prep system for the Nelson-Denny:

Take the self assessment module quizzes below (make notes of your scores and remember which revealed significant gaps in your learning):

Self-Assessment Modules:

Basic Reading Comprehension

Reading for the Main Idea

Advanced Reading Comprehension

Reading Vocabulary

Does anyone know what kind of references are needed? not sure what to ask my two references to write and does it have to be hand written.. thanks

The study group sounds like a good idea to me, keep me posted. I never heard about the 2nd test. But i know whats on the first test See Below:

In Anatomy:

1. Know the definition of Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathology.

2. Know the 5 levels of organization in the body (Its chemical, cell, tissue, organ, then the system(meaning the whole body)).

3. Know your body systems( Integumentary, Skeletal, Muscular, Nervous, Sensory, Endocrine, Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, Respiratory, Digestive, Urinary and Reproductive)

4. Get the definition if metabolism, catabolism , and anabolism.

5. Know your directional terms (Superior, Inferior, Ventral, Dorsal, Medial, Lateral, Proximal, Distal, etc)

6. Know your body planes (Sagittal, Mid Sagittal, Frontal, and Transverse)

7. Know your body cavity ( Dorsal and Ventral Cavity )

8. Know the regions in the abdominal cavity ( Epigastric, Umbilical, Hypogastric, Right and Left Hypogastric, Right and Left Lumbar, Right and Left iliac) and also know what organs are in each region.

Thats what your first test is on!

2 business references, on letter head, typed and signed...

I told me human resource manager and my immediate manager to type it up for me...

yeah is a scantron for each section and she will collected them b4 she moves on to the next part

Intresting. I woudld like to join the study group if I pass. Thanks for the the info on the red letter.

As for the 175 for the test it can be a post office money order made out to veebs?

it can also be a educational reference but it must be on letterhead if its not they make you get another one

yeah akanni said that is what is on the first exam I took a&p already so that shouldn't be a problem but if you continue to read the threads akanni discusses both the 2nd test at orientation and the workforce program where they pay your tuition iin return for 2yrs work

What kind of work is the workforce program?

from what I've read its working for 2yrs as a lpn in a long term care facility . . . . . .they pay your tuition and you work for them for 2 yrs thjats the way I understood it. It doesnt sound so bad but I personally didnt wanna specialize in long term care but they say it is a little difficult getting a job be cause most places want 1-2 years experience so this is a guaranteed job with pay right after you graduate from the program I really dont know all the technicalities about what qualifies you but I think it is something to look into for an entry level position as a lpn. . . .hey you never know!:)

read page 25 #247 akanni and be16 talk about both the 2nd test and the workforce program
