VEEB LPN Program (info request)

U.S.A. New York

Published

Hi All,

I'll be starting at VEEB in the Fall and was wondering if there are any current or past VEEB students that can give some info on this program.

What are the Teachers like?

What are the required books?

Is the program as intense as they say?

Do they have articulation agreements with other nursing (RN) programs? If so, with who?

Are there any disadvantages in taking the LPN course outside of a Community College setting?

Do they provide job Placement at the end???

Any information that ANYONE can provide will be GREATLY appreciated! I really want to have a full understanding of what I'm in for. I have 2 year old Twins and I am a little worried about whether or not I'll be able to juggle school/studying and Family!

I will be working for Southern NY Association which is affiliated with 1199. I need a vacation. I'm leaving for Hawaii on Tuesday and will not pick up a book to study until after Labor Day.

Nice, I just came back from Hawaii on Tuesday. Definitely go surfing, if you haven't planned to do so already. And don't fall for the Oyster-Pearl things at the jewelers...lol

lol. I've been there before and I know.

have fun... im goin bac to veeb on monday to start my review for the boards....

It will be a rough year but it will go by so fast. Just remember you are already in it so stick it out. Many people try to get into Veeb every year and want your spot. Some days you will feel like giving up but just hang in there!

So how did the first week of tests go, guys? Do you feel like you are getting in the swing of things, learning enough, and liking the instructors? Remember this semester is the EASIEST!

Are all the quizzes/tests going to be based on whats verbalized in class?

Or from time to time are we going to be held accountable for assigned readings not mentioned in class?

Since I haven't really been reading the material as of late and have had success on the quizzes, I'm wondering.

Usually the quizzes are based on the module. First semester, I barely opened a textbook. You have to know the module. As time goes by, you will need the textbook for reinforcement. Just hang in their and learn evrything in the module.

Thanks, definitely reassuring to know that.

so far quiz grades are going real smooth. lowest grade i got is an 88. all the rest are in the 90's. having a little diffculty in the lab with hands on practice. i actual had to purchase my own spyogameter(sorry for the spelling) to practice taking blood pressure. i am realyy anxious about the clinicals. just hope i can get the hands on part down pact before i start doing clinicals. i m scared the patient is not going to want me to work on them cause i dont know what i m doing. the instructors are all great even though they are a couple that is very stern.
