VCU ABSN Summer 2018

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys!

I just started a thread for UVA's CNL Summer 2018, but I'm also applying to VCU's ABSN program for Summer 2018. If anyone out there is doing the same, or just applying to VCU, I'd love to hear from you! :)

When you submitted your NursingCAS application and it has a status of verified, did it also say verified when you went to download your application for review? When I go to download my application on the NursingCAS portal, it says my prerequisite coursework entry is unverified, but GPA's were calculated and I have an overall verified status.

I ran into the same issue, and when I called NursingCAS, the explained that the school individually verifies the coursework, not NursingCAS, so it won't show up there. If you need more information on it, I found the folks at NursingCAS very friendly and helpful over the phone, so they can probably help you out, too.

I finally got in!!! See you guys in May!

Congratulations! See you in May!

Does anyone remember the time of day when they sent out your decision letters? I am anxiously awaiting mine for the Spring 2019 entry!

I'm waiting too. I contacted Erica yesterday and she said "If you are inquiring about decisions that have not been received please know that decisions will be emailed no later than 11:59 PM EST this evening"

I can't wait to know the decision.

I was wait listed but they didn't specify a number. Were you wait listed too? I wonder how they are ranking people on the wait list for the traditional program and how many people were accepted, specifically to the traditional pathway for second degree students.

Did you hear back on your status into the program?

I didn't get any email. I think I'm out.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't receive any email yet and you don't know if you're out for sure though.

Did you apply to any other nursing schools?

No actually I didn't. this is the only school I was qualified for. 3 of my prerequisites are in progress. going to finish them soon.

I am an international student, with no experience.

can you tell me about your statues to know where I'm at

Hi, Aspiring33,

I was waitlisted as well. I actually applied for the fall of 2018 for the traditional BSN program for both VCU and Bon Secours. I got accepted into the BSN in Bon Secours, while waitlisted for VCU's BSN program. I am very confused now. Don't know which one to go. Considering cheaper tuition, I want to go to VCU. But they told me they are gonna select the candidates from waitlist until the first day of classes - January 14, 2019. I don't know what my number is on the ranking of waitlist and have not idea how many people will be selected from the waitlist. It is such a long time to wait and yet not know if finally I can be admitted.

Both are good schools, but I understand that the financial part is important. I'm also confused because if they don't rank people then how will they go about pulling people off the waitlist? They must have some sort of ranking system. It would be helpful to know what number we were at!

I think it's great you got in somewhere though and you never know, you may receive an email from VCU saying they have a spot available for you.
