VCU ABSN Summer 2014 Hopefuls!

Hey everyone!

I'm semi new to this site and was curious if there is anyone else out there in the application process for VCU's accelerated BSN program to start in May 2014. I've started my application, but haven't turned it in, yet. This is the only program I want to go to! I don't know if I can wait until the end of January to get a decision!!!!

I finished my degree in Biology in May 2011 and I've been working in NOVA at a fast paced medical office ever since. Also, I've taken all of my pre-reqs except for A&P I and II (starting A&P I in a few weeks), but just a bit concerned about my grades/GPA from undergrad. I meet all of the requirements thus far, but not sure if it will be enough. Anyone else having similar concerns?

Also, would love to hear from any current VCU ABSN students - what were your stats like when applying, how do you like the program, etc.

yes and yes, i was there......i was always in open lab. we probably studied together a bit

Phiiiiish! Are you caucasian and have glasses and brown hair? LOL. Did you get a recommendation from Strauss? If so, I am the black chick that always whined to you about micro that told you she hoped we both get in. :)

hahah, no wayyy. congrats on getting that A in med micro. the pain is over! enjoying the break? did you sign up for the anatomy preceptor thing?

Of course! And I wish I got an A in micro. :( Just an A on that test. Lol. I am "enjoying" my break, though I mean... it's not really a break because even though I'll be taking 2 classes (if I get the preceptorship), nutrition is online and just busy work so it's not really school IMO. Lol. I've just been working, working out, and playing games. How about you?!

Anyone else ready to hear our admissions decisions?

I'm kind of late to the post, but also applied to VCU. Hopefully we all get in!

Sorry for such a late response, but I've been up in Fairfax bouncing between living with my parents and my brother. My mom has had to have a couple minor surgeries and a bunch of check ups, so I've been helping her out these last few weeks.

Its been a nice relaxing break though, and I'm ready to get back to class and feel like a productive person again. I think I've watched everything Netflix has to offer right now..

What are you taking this semester?

@wilsonsr - SO READYYYY! I was looking at past years forums about VCU ABSN and those students received their decisions around January 22nd. I'm hoping we get ours earlier, but I'm not holding my breath.

In one of the emails they sent out regarding updating transcripts over winter break they mentioned that decisions would be emailed in early Feb. unfortunately :(

@kaw5cv - I do remember seeing that...but they also did not change the date on their website. It still says by January 31st. In reality, by the time decision making comes around, we will have waited a full 3 months...what's another week on top of that, right?!

I wish they would release decisions early! I just want to know so I can stop stalking my email/their web page.
