Vaping is becoming increasingly common in our high school. From a discipline standpoint we treat it as a tobacco violation unless of course it has marijuana wax in it. What I want to know is how do other schools handle it from a health education standpoint? The kids (and frequently their parents) see no problem with this. Anyone have any wisdom or resources you can share?

This.
The kids in our school do this.
This is what happens. The kids buy THC oil online using Bitcoins. it arrives in package, and the kids tell the parents its like a phone charger or something.
It has no scent.
They put it in a smokeless vape, like a Juul. Then get high right under our noses.
But Mega High. Cause THC oil is so much more concentrated than just regular ol' pot. And it is the hallucinatory part of the pot plant. CBD oil is used for medical purposes.
easy as pie.

Vaping was catching traction during my senior year. Funny that the bathrooms that used to smell like tobacco smoke now smelled like fruity pebbles.
I think that it should be presented as equally harmful as tobacco use from a teacher's education standpoint to deter non-smokers; but in our clinic we have noticed marked improvement in the breathing of some patients that switch from tobacco to vapor. The long term effects haven't been determined, and I believe there is a strong possibility of cardiovascular effects - but patients regain much of their taste and smell and show an improvement in lung function in the short term. This is in KY where we have a high rate of smokers.
