Vanderbilt's Nurse Residency Program

U.S.A. Tennessee

Published

Does anyone have any advice on how to make a strong letter of intent for Vanderbilt's Nurse residency program? I know they accept a lot of applicants for each cohort but I'm not sure how many people actually apply and how competetive it actually is. If there is anyone on here that is currently in the program, was previously or knows anyone who has gone through the program, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I think we are all pondering the same things. I'll be flying in from Houston for my interview. From past forums on here seems as though they take about 40% or so. I don't know how many spots are available, surely the economy has taken it's toll. Good luck to all. It would be a life changing event to be accepted into the residency... First choice (critical care) or not. I feel great! I've worked my butt off... We all have. All I can do is be myself and hope it is what they are looking for.

I was also selected to interview. Good luck guys and girls!

In regards to previous posts:

GPA 3.0, Nursing 3.2

Adult Critical #1, and other criticals mentioned as my interest

Hi everyone! Has anyone brainstormed yet for some good questions that might be good to ask Vanderbilt during the interveiw?

Thanks

I was also selected for an interview. Just waiting for a confirmation email. I'm so excited at the thought of being accepted into the nurse residency program... I really hope it happens! Good Luck to everyone! :D

Congrats StephanieK717!!! That is fantastic. Good luck to you and all the others who were selected for an interview. It seems like there are alot of Nurses coming from out of state. I know I am. I am originally from Colorado but went to nursing school in Indiana.

Any one else coming from Texas? I am interviewing on the 22nd :) yippeee

Is there anyone from Seattle? I'd love to meet all of you there. hopefully they take all of us:yeah:

jennrn09. In nursing interviews they ask alot of situational questions..here is a link that might help http://www.nursecareers.com/QuestionstoAnswer.html . I am happy for everyone who was selected. Good luck to all. It may be too late to ask now, but does anyone know the starting rate and differentials for the Residency?

Thanks tiere40 I'll check it out :) , but I was wondering what WE as interviewees should ask the Vanderbilt interviewers.....anyone have any ideas. I was told we would be allowed to ask a very few cause of time.

jennrn09 i am flying in the afternoon of the 19th. do you plan to stay around after your interview?

tiere40....that I don't know yet. I'm driving in Sunday late afternoon and my interview is on Monday at 10am, I do hope to take the tour while I was up there. I might drive home right after or leave on Tuesday. I'll know more when it gets closer.

Anyone going to be there around the 21st-24th? mine is on the 22nd and I am staying a few days. My sister lives there :)
