I wanted to start a thread for those of us applying to Vanderbilt's Master of Science in Nursing (MS) PreSpecialty Entry for Spring 2026 (non-nursing BS holders).
I submitted my application last week before the July 15 deadline. I'm applying for the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) track, but I'd love to hear from others pursuing different specialties too.
A few questions to get us started:
When did you apply, and for which specialty?
Have you received any updates or confirmation emails since submitting?
If you've been accepted already, what was the timeline like?

No ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ I have an email scheduled to send to my admissions counselor for first thing tomorrow morning. The anticipation is literally killing me LOL.Â
Update! Decisions were made & finalized on Friday. They are now just waiting for the system to finish being set up so they can automate decisions to be sent out - they just got a new system.
admissions said we will here back this week for sure!!

Are you sure that we will hear back this week? I know of someone who called the admissions office 2 days ago and apparently they said it could take 2-3 more weeks (mid-October). This is crazy!

WHAT?? That's insane! I hope not... I got an email from one admissions person who said this week, and then spoke with a different one on the phone yesterday who said, "Let me ask my boss, I will call you back", and when she called me back, she too said this week.
Do you know if they talked with a female or a male in admissions?
Not sure, but said they were pretty rude over the phone apparently. Said she wasn't sure why there were significant delays in decisions. I hope we hear back by Friday! But who knows at this point, I applied several months ago!Â

Oh no 😞 that's unfortunate... I have had really good experiences with everyone I have spoken with over the last 100+ calls I have made LOL.
Seriously... the answer just keeps changing. I applied the day apps came out. I had no idea it would take this long to hear back.
Nope but at this point if I do get in I'm not sure I could even go. I have to relocate my entire family, figure out financial aid and finish my prerequisites. Seems sorta impossible.Â

I'm so sorry... that is so frustrating. What prerequisites are you missing?
