Today's the day - applications are open! I've been looking forward to applying for this program since before I was in nursing school - I can't believe it's finally time to apply, and almost time to graduate! Join me as we go through the nail-biting process of trying to get hired by VUMC!

Hello. I am interested in the Summer 2016 Residency program. Particularly in the NICU or Pediatrics. Any advice on the application process? Also, did anybody from Florida apply?

Someone else also asked this (props for your initiative and preparedness!) a few posts ago. I sent them an email with some answers to their questions and wouldn't mind sending the clarifications to you as well. My email is [email protected]

Oh, also. I graduated in May and I'm already licensed in Ohio. Currently working on the application to get endorsed for Tennessee....I feel like I'm applying to take the NCLEX all over again! So much paperwork. Is anyone else doing this?

I moved from IN to TN and the process of getting licensed here did take some time and was slightly annoying with all of the paperwork, but once I mailed everything, it took about 3-4 wks to get approved. You also can call the TN board of nursing to check on the status of your application!

I received the same e-mail and am still so confused! I printed the TN application that I found online but it says right on the first page: if you provide a home address from a compact state or declare your legal residence as another state that is a part of the multi-state compact you are ineligible for a Tennessee license and your application will be placed on hold for up to one year until you meet one of the criteria above.”

So wouldn't that mean I couldn't apply for TN? I live in RI, which is also a compact state and obviously where my legal residence is...

I am a nursing student in South Carolina right now.. I noticed the Vanderbilt Residency program was closed for winter 2016 but summer is now up. This doesn't start until November though, correct? I Graduate in may and I think that would be too long of a wait. Any advice? Did any of y'all get accepted to the Winter Cohort?

If you apply to the summer cohort for 2016 your start date would be August 1. Not November.

Hi everyone! Maybe I'm "jumping the gun," but is anyone else starting to look at apartments in Nashville? I'm coming from out of state (SC), so I would love to find someone to live with! I wish we could have the Facebook page up soon to help with this... I'm worried that apartment options for a lease starting in February will be slim by late December/January.

I'm just glad I'm not the only one! I was planning a trip to Nashville December 20-22 to look at apartments, but I'm not sure if I should just wait until later when we get the Facebook group. Waiting makes me nervous! Hopefully we will have the group before then :-)
