Vanderbilt SICU
Yes! Midwest is the best! I was checking out all of the websites our recruiter sent to us yesterday. I'm coming from northern Michigan probably in early February. Do you have any advice? Or fun little tidbits that would help a future coworker out? Feel free to email me ([email protected]) if that's okay!

So great to read this- CONGRATS! I can't recall if the offer mentioned anything about what shift, though I think it is safe to assume nights with my new-grad status. I'll be starting with the residency program; are you coming from a different hospital in Nashville?

Someone else also asked this (props for your initiative and preparedness!) a few posts ago. I sent them an email with some answers to their questions and wouldn't mind sending the clarifications to you as well. My email is [email protected]

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016
Hey! I received this in an email that might help you and anyone else also reading: "In regards to taking the NCLEX, we allow twice for not passing. See the link regarding NCLEX and compact/ non-compact license. https://www.ncsbn.org/nurse-licensure-compact.htm Licensure information: Tennessee is a compact license state. If you do not live in a compact state and plan to accept a job in Tennessee, apply to take the TN NCLEX. (the TN NCLEX can be taken in your own state) This will speed up the process of obtaining your license and also save money when applying for endorsement. Even if you live in a compact state you might want to take the TN NCLEX for licensure. (It makes the process easier.) ·https://www.ncsbn.org/nurse-licensure-compact.htm"

[quote=anatomyangela;8794171. Oh, @makebetterhappen: I'm pretty sure we rode the elevator together before our interviews, haha. Congratulations on getting accepted in your track!! I hope the other girl we were waiting with was accepted as well! ahh! I totally agree with your statement, "This is going to be such an adventure and I am so excited! What a blessing, and I cannot wait for February." Congrats on acceptance into the residency and your decision. Thank you again for your calm demeanor and kind wishes- crossing my phalanges for our Psych nurse friend. Please email me if you have any questions about all the paperwork or want to connect: "Midwest is the best!"

Ha, I only ask because a local hospital is having a very large scrub sale at the end of the month. Tracey said, "regarding scrubs... any variety is fine, just not black (trauma wears black)."

What a thrilling update! Fate certainly gave you a gift. I'm very happy for you and excited to hear your future stories in our new adventure!

No, but that's why this opportunity is even more special! I'll simply take the NCLEX for TN and join the compact. If you haven't done so already (since IL is not one as well), call the State Board in Nashville and request an exam packet. There are quite a few things we have to accomplish! I posted my email a few posts ago; feel free to ask any questions!

I worked in Chicago last summer- very cool! Congrats on your position- I accepted an offer in surgical ICU and I am still high in the heavens trying to thank our Lord for the opportunity. I am from Detroit, but I go to a university in northern Michigan. Living in Nashville is going to be awesome!

ICU is going to be the bomb.com! Random question, do you know the color of the critical care nurse scrubs? I am having trouble locating info about our future uniforms!

Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Winter 2016
Yay! The process is the most helpful and smoothest of all that I applied to. The nurse recruiter is a gem and was always open for any questions. I've read other threads where people post paragraphs of their accomplishments in response to this question and to me it's not appropriate on this post. You can email me at [email protected] for your specific questions.

Emory New Nurse Grad Residency Program March 2016
I also haven't been receiving a lot of help from the talent requisition team so I'm writing this for the future nursing grads interested in pursuing EMORY that will read this later down the line: (1) plan to attend the interview on-site as they do not accommodate Skype interviews; (2) Request confirmation of the hospital location and position when responding to the interview invitation; (3) If you do not hear from your nurse recruiter, contact HR. The # is listed on the residency FAQ page. (4) Keep your hopes up! If they see potential in you, they will contact you.
