Hi everyone! My name is Tori. I created this page for those interested in the summer 2018 nurse residency program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. We can use this page as a place to share application tips, updates on the status of applications/interviews, tips for the entire application/interview process, etc. And of course, it's great to speak with others going through the same experience!

Has anyone heard from NICU? Super stressing about waiting. I interviewed a week ago and thought I would have heard something by now.. :(

Did anyone do a Skype interview?

I provided my username in the designated box when scheduling my interview but haven't heard anything regarding Skype since. Do I need to do something prior or do I just wait for them to call me that hour prior?

Although I was offered an interview at Vandy, it was not the unit I was seeking. I knew that it'd be a great experience but I was offered a position at St. Thomas Midtown critical care track and I have accepted it! I wish everyone luck with their interviews and job searches. Has anyone else interviewed at St. Thomas and received offers? I made another thread titled St. Thomas Nashville Nurse Residency Program 2018 if anyone would like to join. Good luck everyone:)

My advice for the interview is to practice with a friend and google typical nursing questions. Even if you cannot relate it back to a nursing situation try to relate it to a previous work or school situation. The interview in itself was pretty relaxed but I did leave feeling nervous. It took just over a week to hear back about it! Good luck everyone!
