Vanderbilt Nurse Residency Summer 2018

Published

Hi everyone! My name is Tori. I created this page for those interested in the summer 2018 nurse residency program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. We can use this page as a place to share application tips, updates on the status of applications/interviews, tips for the entire application/interview process, etc. And of course, it's great to speak with others going through the same experience!

Has anyone else received an offer?

I am wondering the same thing. Although my interview was not that great :( so I'm not expecting much.

Awe what happened?

I was super nervous for some reason and haven't had clinical in like a year so I couldn't really answer the questions fluidly so it sounded like I was rambling and incoherent :( so disappointed. I interviewed for NICU.

I kind of feel the same way about mine í ½í¸• But who knows, we might've done a lot better than we thought!

Did they ask you clinical questions like give you a scenario and have you answer it on the spot??? i had an interview like this and it was terrible.

They were behavioral based questions. Like name a time when... I would google some examples of those questions and have scenarios ready.

Yes! That was exactly how it was and I really did not know what to expect.. ugh so frustrating and defeating. I am very passionate about the positionand the unit but I just could not think of any scenario.. so it went from bad to worse by the end of the interview.

Stay positive everyone! Mine was today and I felt a bit defeated as well but tried to be as genuine as possible and remain true to who I am. It was difficult but I wouldn't expect anything else from Vanderbilt. Good luck to everyone, and hopefully everyone's dreams will come true! We need to be proud of ourselves for making it into the interview, this is an accomplishment in itself!

has anyone interviewed for the adult acute medicine?? if so, who interviewed you?

I'm hoping we all hear soon. Have you heard anything @CM14?

@forevernursetn I received an offer for PSTAM on March 9th!! I interviewed March 1st so it was a week after. I am so excited! Praying for everyone!!!
