Vanderbilt MSN 2020

Nursing Students Post Graduate

Updated:   Published

I just attended Vanderbilt's fall open house for the 2020 year and I'm really excited to be applying! I'm hoping to connect with other Vandey applicants so we can offer support and info along this process. I am applying to the post BSN dual CNM/ FNP program.

For those admitted -- Are any of you going to the Open House on the 29th? I went to the one back in October so I wasn't planning go, but I was curious if anyone knew of any compelling reason to go again.

Does anybody know a rough tuition estimate for the entirety of the program?

At the open house they gave out a book with all that information and they calculated it to be $75,000. I can try and upload a picture of the page if you like. That is for a BSN to MSN.

Hey everyone! Congrats again on your acceptances and don't give up if you weren't accepted - I was turned down for other programs too. Weird question that I probably should already know, but what is the difference between pre-specialty and specialty? I was admitted into specialty FNP for Fall 2020 and just curious... is that a combined RN and Masters (like an accelerated) program? Just curious. It's exciting that has so many entry points! I'm going to the Admitted Day in March.

PreSpeciality allows students with a non-nursing bachelor’s degree to enter the program.

Called today and spoke with someone regarding applications submitted after priority deadline. She said it would likely be three weeks before we heard anything, but they are currently reviewing applications (including mine.)

Hey Legendcole97, it sounds like you are already an RN. Your perspective on PreSpecialty is completely accurate--with a non-nursing bachelor's degree and a bunch of Science Prereequisites, a PreSpecialty student completes their RN degree in 12 months and then their NP MSN in another 12-18 months, depending on specialty.

Did they mention if they are still reviewing applications of those who applied before the deadline? Still haven't recieved any notification on my status yet.

Specializes in Women’s health.

I was accepted into the WHNP program for Fall 2020! I couldn’t believe it. I started crying. Just curious if anyone else will be in the same program?

Specializes in RN, BSN.

I was accepted into the Post-Graduate MSN PNP program! Wondering if there's a group message or Facebook group for people that have been accepted? Does anybody know?

I applied for Postmaster to DNP program, and I just had an interview. It was the most intense and challenging interview ever in my life.. Congratulations, everyone who was accepted, and Good luck everyone who is still waiting for results or interview.

Just curious, how are some people still waiting to hear, while others have been accepted and waitlisted? Also, have there been any rejections, or is it just an ordered waitlist? For MSN specialty in particular...
