Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2018. Anyone else applying too? Please comment!

Hi all,

I missed the Nov. 1st deadline (app. submitted Nov. 14th), so I am a round 2 pre-specialty PMHNP applicant. I interviewed on 2/21/18 and submitted the waitlist form on 3/14/18. I have been unable to get a rough estimate from Admissions on the number of PMHNP applicants on the waitlist. Although I feel this may not be my year to enter the program, I remain hopeful.

I was accepted for PMHNP and accepted part time but I am still waiting on one school to make my final decision. Don't give up hope. Some of us are still deciding. Good luck guys!!!

Hi LCSW to PMHNP--this seems like an obvious question but are you pre-specialty? I am a round 2 waitlisted pre-specialty and it seems like only the RNs are getting off the waitlist.

Hey yeah you're right only the RNs are getting off at the moment. I just spoke to someone at admissions and they said the RNs are on a separate waiting list then we are.

I don't think they've even started pulling pre specialty waitlisted applicants yet, (I could be wrong). But hopefully they start pulling from that list soon!

I'm waitlisted prespecialty as well.

Yes fingers crossed! And exactly it did say July. Although... I hope for the sake of my sanity it is before then haha.

I looked through the all nurses forums of previous cohorts from last year and the two years before and it looks like some people heard end of March/ early April... so I'm holding on to that haha hopefully that'll be us .

It's so hard to walk away from my direct entry FNP Nashville area Vandy acceptance, but I decided to go with UVA (also git accepted to UMD and Duke). The opportunity cost is getting to me!! I really hope this helps someone off the waitlist and the experience is a dream come true. Good luck everyone!

Hey @summerchild! If UVA is calling then you gotta go with your gut. And UVA is an amazing program, sounds like you had incredible choices! Best of luck chasing after your FNP dreams !

What are your thoughts on UVA? If I don't get off the wait list here, I was going to apply again but am also scoping out other options.

@summerchild and you applied to the direct entry FNP specialty but not the prespecialty one correct?
