Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2018. Anyone else applying too? Please comment!

Got into vandy PMHNP direct entry program. Also got 7k scholarship. I would love to start a Facebook group for those starting in fall 2018. Send me a message if you are also doing psych, I'd love to meet some people beforehand!

How do you all plan on repaying your loans? I am looking into federal loan forgiveness, but Trump's proposed bill could do away with loan forgiveness. I'm curious to see what else there is available.

So does anyone for sure know if this is the entire financial package? Are there more scholarships they'll announce?

I had a sit down chat with the financial aid lady, and she was very direct in saying that tuition is well over $100k. She said most students have to live very frugally for several years after graduating, but most students get good paying jobs after the program (so I guess that's the up side)

I just emailed admissions. I'm too chicken to call :p But I'll let you know what I hear although I'm expecting the generic answer that they're coming out in waves, yadda yadda.

The scholarship is the standard amount that is offered to all people who are accepted. The program is designed to be completed in two years if you go full time. There should be cost information on the website.

Per the open house information, there are two additional scholarships available and they are entirely based on academic performance/GPA. There are two full tuition scholarships offered each year- one to a pre-speciality student, one to a direct entry student- based on GPA. The rest of the program is usually paid for by loans. There are two types of loans- subsidized and unsubsidized. You are able to take out the max amount of loans each year to help cover cost of living if needed.

At the open house they emphasized the need for students to attempt to secure outside, additional scholarships on their own as the only internal scholarship is the one that is mentioned on the acceptance letters.

I see where some people were accepted for WHNP but has anyone been accepted for the WHNP/AGPCNP dual?
