Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2018. Anyone else applying too? Please comment!
Congrats everyone! I am accepted to AGPCNP! I am in the fortunate position of having to choose between a few amazing programs. Im visiting schools next week, but am unable to attend Vanderbilt's visiting day. Im wondering if anyone that is planning to attend might share their notes and thoughts with me following their visit and/or ask a few questions on my behalf? I would so appreciate this!
I'm in the same boat with the 20.5k loan allowance thing. Did anyone get a noteworthy scholarship? I got 7k... that's double what Emory was offering me, so I guess that's good... but the program's just so expensive. Does anyone know the total cost? And can we complete the entire program in just 2 years?
I think I'm leaning towards Boston at the moment. With only 48 hours before their deposit, it doesn't leave a lot of time to decide. But overall, even with a scholarship from Vandy and factoring in living expenses, Vandy is still a bit more expensive. I also don't really want to move again in one year. I also appreciate being able to take public transport/bike to clinicals in Boston (at least in the summer anyways). Both programs seem awesome, but it really comes down to which city I want to live in for the next 2+ years.
I'm a little confused about how Vandy is more expensive -- so if I was just to do WHNP for both schools, it would be:
BC: $1,350 per credit * 77 credits = $103k for tuition, across 2 years
Vandy: [$1,454 per credit * 27 credits for prespecialty year] + [$1,454 per credit * 40 credits for WHNP specialty year] = $97,400?
Same boat (@cost). Comparatively it's fine. And I saw a reddit comment that someone who did the MSN program couldn't recommend it more, it was worth every penny, stuff like that.
I'm going to do it despite the cost (unless the last two schools I have to hear back from give me tons of $).
EDIT: so...I already bought a Vanderbilt sweatshirt, hat, pennant, and some other little things...I'm really pumped and proud to be able to say I go to Vanderbilt!
