Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2018. Anyone else applying too? Please comment!
I'm direct entry, not prespeciality. So I don't know if it only applies to the masters portion? But I specifically asked because I had a friend who went to Vanderbilt and had her midwifery portion in Alaska and California. He said that they have contacts all over the US and that they find you the site where you want to go.
I had my interview yesterday for 10:30 am and they called at 10:45 am, and could not tell at all how it went. Did anyone else experience that during their interview? The only application question they asked was how I would separate church from work. I thought it was weird but at the same time they probably wanted to make sure I wasn't a nut, which is cool.
I really could not tell if the curt and shortness was due to personality, being rushed with time, or disinterest with me as a candidate; I hope it was the former.
Still hopefully optimistic.

Remind me again which program you are applying for? My interviewer was 5min late in calling and apologized profusely. She also did not ask me much from my application. She basically said "tell me about yourself and your understanding of the program". She then said they love diversity, and it sounded like I had a good understanding of everything and asked what questions I had. The interview was maybe 15min long. This worried me, but I've heard of other PNP applicants saying theirs went about the same way.
I applied for the PMHNP - ADN to MSN. They definitely did not let me talk much, it was very much them asking direct questions and wanting direct answers. I have a feeling it was just personality and they where trying to stay very professional.
I obviously applied to a different program and only had one interviewer, but I felt like I did most of the talking and was worried since she didn't ask me very much.

I specifically asked my interviewer if as a student we are required to find our own clinical placements and thats what he told me. So, we are not required to find them on our own.
