Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2018. Anyone else applying too? Please comment!

No update emails or info about financial aid either.

If you have already turned in your FAFSA, you're done. There isn't a separate financial aid process for Vandy as far as I know. All scholarships are rewarded based on your application.

So I received an interview invitation for Monday. Yay!!!! Any advice from those who interviewed for PMHNP?

Question, does all recipients that applied before the Nov 1st deadline get an interview (for the specialties that interview) or is getting an interview a good sign?

They don't grill you for PMHNP they just are genuinely interested in you. Not everyone will get an interview from my understanding

Congratulations! The PMHNP interview I had wasn't structured or anything, it was a very easy conversation with a faculty member who genuinely cared. And no, not everyone gets an interview at all, you've definitely impressed them! :)

Everyone does not get an interview. So if you got one that means the faculty saw promising things in your application! Good luck!

Anyone else here PNP primary? I had my interview last month and haven't heard from any other Peds applicants.

The interview was conversational in nature and only about 20-25 minutes, centered on things like why do you want to be a PMHNP/why now, short and mid term plans, populations of interest, etc.

If you don't receive an interview, does that mean you're not being considered?

I believe that applications are reviewed in the order in which they were received. PMHNP program interviews all applicants that are being considered for admission, with admission decisions being made first/second week of february.

ugh is it february yet?

I've read that other people and myself were told in our Psych interview that they would make their decisions by Jan 22/23 and that we could call to check with them. Has anyone else heard that? I really want to know buy I feel anoying if I call.

In previous threads, they'd have one person call at a time and wait a while in between as to minimize the calling. Ha!
