Vanderbilt MSN 2018

Published

Hi! I'm starting a thread for Vanderbilt MSN Fall 2018. Anyone else applying too? Please comment!

That is great! Did they tell you the name of the person you are interviewing with beforehand?

No, unfortunately! I went in blind. :)

Darn, I thought as much. I asked twice and they weren't willing to let me know either. Thanks for the heads up. Mine is on Friday, will let everyone know how it goes.

Good luck! You will do great.

Thanks! How long was your interview? My invite said 10-15 mins. If they keep to that time table, I will really need to ask my questions quickly.

Mine actually went about 25 minutes... I wouldn't worry about it. It was a pretty laid back conversation and I got to ask all the questions I wanted to. Hope this helps!

I haven't been super impressed by Vanderbilt's Admissions folks. Anyone else?

They weren't overly friendly or inviting as other schools I've interacted with. They gave me the information I needed however it was bare minimum responses that took a while to get. I had to email to follow up.

I interviewed last year for Psych and it was very laid back. They won't tell you who is interviewing you but I had two people on the phone. They asked the pretty basic questions like why Vandy, why nursing/psych, and what I wanted to do long term.

I just had my interview and it overall went well. There were some questions they couldn't answer but I think it is because my interviewer is new to the school of nursing and just joined the faculty this year. We talked for about 35 minutes and she told me that we will know whether we are admitted into their program by Valentine's Day in Feb 2018.

For the dual CNM/FNP specialty they will let us know one of three options whether 1) We are admitted to both CNM/FNP 2) Just CNM and 3) whether we are denied admission altogether.

Good luck to everyone else on their interviews! Let us know how everything went and whether you have more insights to add.

Congratulations on completing your interviews!

I just got an email asking me to choose a time to interview for the PNP primary care specialty! I'm shocked and excited! What sorts of questions did you ask faculty in your interviews? I attended the most recent open house and feel like I gained a good understanding of the program through that experience.

My interview was confirmed for next Wednesday. Good vibes to all!

Anyone who applied to AGACNP heard any updates?

Current prespecialty student here. happy to answer any questions about the process! I guess interviews are coming up pretty soon..

you definitely want to have some pre reqs out of the way so they can see your progress.
