For prospective applicants for the 2017 year in the Vanderbilt MSN program. Being as I am currently wait listed in the 2016 year due to a very late application, there is a high probability I would have to apply again come November 1st 2016 for the following year acceptance.

November 1st, 2016 is the priority application deadline for the 2017 year. All materials (GRE, official transcripts, application payment, letters of recommendation, statement of intent) must have been submitted by this date.

Letters of acceptance for August 2016 orientation and start were sent out the first week of February 2016. Wait listed recipients received their wait list offer in an around the first week of March 2016 with the caveat that seats may open well into late July.

Had my CNM interview today as well! It was definitely very relaxed (despite my nervousness, which I think/hope was only apparent towards the beginning). I was probably a bit less clear than I could have been, and answered a question about scope of practice pretty strangely, but I'm trying not to dwell too much now! To kitpower, it would be WONDERFUL if those interviewed all got in, but I don't know if that's possible, since by my estimation there were at least 15 other interview slots in the email I got, and that was just for this one day (thus, I'm guessing there were at least that many listed for other days, too--that's assuming that all of those slots were intended to be filled). My interviewer told me that they only interview "qualified candidates," so I'm sure that everyone interviewed is being very seriously considered for admission, but I also am sure that many of those people will wind up being waitlisted (which, she also told me, means "we want you, we just don't have room for you"). It's such a nerve-wracking process, but it is certainly encouraging to get an interview. It really helps to commiserate/celebrate with everyone :) Best of luck to all!!

Hi, I saw in more recent posts that you have an interview with Penn on Tuesday! Best of luck to you! I also registered for a phone interview with Penn when I received the email about being selected for an interview but haven't heard anything since. Did you receive further instruction via email in regard to the interview after you registered for it?

Hey there, I'm actually going up to Philadelphia for the interview, but I have definitely heard of people who signed up for phone interviews that haven't gotten any information. I hope they fill you in soon!

Oh okay! I went ahead and emailed them so hopefully I hear back. Best of luck to you!!

I spoke to someone in Admissions today. She said that interview invites for Prespecialty PMHNP will be going out in January. Is this what everyone else is hearing?

Hi! This is for the CNM/FNP applicants- I am also a CNM/FNP applicant and got an email regarding the CNM interview but not FNP- after speaking to Admissions they said they either do them together or I should wait to hear from the FNP faculty. Was yours combined? Did you also receive an email first from the CNM program? Any insight on this is highly appreciated!! Thank you :)

It's possible that FNP doesn't do interviews, so you'd only need to do one for CNM!

Hi,

I was a CNM/FNP applicant last year. The only specialty I interviewed with was CNM and I heard nothing from the FNP side of the program at all until I was notified that I got accepted into the combined prgoram. I was asked about why I wanted to do the CNM/FNP program by the CNM faculty but it was the only question in the interview about the FNP side of it.

Hope that helps

Thank you! That is helpful!

I called admissions yesterday and they said something similar, I appreciate the responses!

Just a random question...has anyone gone ahead and completed their FAFSA?

Yea; FAFSA opened earlier than usual this year (Oct 1st) and I filled it out as soon as it opened. It used the same tax info. from last year.

Yes, I completed it back at the beginning of October!

OK thank you! I didn't know if I was getting too far ahead of myself or not. Helps me feel like I am doing something productive during this waiting lol :whistling:
