I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.
Congrats to everyone else who got in to the ENP program! Here's a link to the thread for those of us doing that program... https://allnurses.com/post-graduate-nursing/vanderbilt-enp-fall-1025031.html
Hello Vanderbilt MSN hopefuls! I am also a current prespecialty student and would be happy to answer any questions you may have. The one thing I can speak to is PMHNP interviews. Expect to be interviewed, but don't freak out if you don't hear from them, since some people are accepted without interviewing. Best of luck with all your applications!
I was wondering if you could talk about your pre-speciality year?? Vandy is high on my list but I am still waiting to hear back from a few schools. Any pros, cons, or general advice would be awesome:) I'm wondering about clinical placements, faculty, what hospitals you get placed in aside from Vanderbilt, and what the hiring rates are straight out of the program. Thank you so much in advance!
I got into Vandy's FNP program. I'm waiting to hear back from other schools, but I'm confident that Vandy is my #1 choice. Is anyone else relocating to Nashville? Or is there a thread already for this? I currently live in Michigan and am planning on moving to Nashville in August. I'm wondering if anyone has an idea on good places to live, etc

Hi there! Not sure if you're a Pre-Specialty or a Direct-Entry student, but I'm going to be relocating to Nashville next year for my Pre-Specialty year and I'm also from Michigan! My family's in Ann Arbor but I'm graduating this May from MSU. My plan is to come back to MI for my specialty year and do the distance-learning option.

any pre-speciality PMHNP applicants (who made the deadline) still waiting to hear back?
