I haven't seen a thread yet for 2016 hopefuls, so I thought I'd start one. After much research and changing my mind back and forth, I decided to go for the Vanderbilt MSN. I would be direct entry as I already have my BSN. I finally decided on Pediatric Primary Care. I'm just worried about getting a job after graduation as I'm not really seeing much in the way of openings in the Nashville area--which is where I live.
Thank you Vanderbilt School of Nursing Admissions peeps for working on a Saturday! I got my acceptance letter notification today! Full time NNP program, here I come! [emoji7]
I have a friend in the 2015 NNP cohort - she says that the program is AMAZING and that she is learning so much! Congrats!
To all you Michigan people - I dont live there anymore but I grew up in Michigan and I still get excited about seeing others from my home state!
For those getting ready to relocate to Nashville: I have moved around a LOT in the last 5 years. I recommend hotpads.com for apartment hunting. Just in case it helps anybody :)
Hi Nursing93 - Did you accept the wait list position? And did you apply to any other programs? I was wait listed too but applied to quite a few other schools so hoping for a back up plan to come through soon :) A few people on here said the wait list moves but I emailed an admissions counselor and was told otherwise :/ A bit discouraging.
I applied pre-specialty FNP & was waitlisted.

amFNP: I heard the same thing from the Vanderbilt admissions counselor as well about the wait list not moving but that was for the CNM program. It makes you wonder what type of volume of applicants they receive and how many seats they are trying to manage in each of the programs. How large do they allow the wait list to get as well I have to wonder. I haven't asked but I do wonder how many seats there are in the pre-specialty CNM program.
To those of you who will be Direct-Entry (already a BSN), AG-ACNP, and Full-Time (one-year study), we will be classmates in a couple of classes (e.g. Advanced Health Assessment) in the Fall. We will also graduate together in August 2017, because I'm in the middle of the 2 year Part-Time program.
Let me know if you have any questions! Be sure to get all of your student pre-enrollment requirements done early, so that it's done and over with! Also, buy your books as soon as the syllabus is available on Blackboard. There is usually a quiz on the first day of class in some courses.

Looking forward to meeting you! Have you joined the 2017 grad FB page? There are at least two of us AGACNPs there. I'm already antsy about getting everything squared away and getting my books! How long did it take from acceptance to enrollment?

I've actually been off of Facebook for over a year because of a long list of reasons . From acceptance to enrollment, the syllabus for my classes was available 3-4 weeks before the start of classes. The list of books for the semester was available around June or so. Keep a look out for the "Admitted Students" page update, and look at that page frequently. It kept me sane as far as pre-enrollment requirements go. Last year, it was up sometime around the late spring.
I'm looking forward to meeting you as well! Everyone I have met has been courteous, exceptionally bright, and just all around awesome. I love the fact that everyone at VUSN comes from a wide variety of backgrounds and levels of experience. I love seeing people from all areas of the country/globe as well.
Congratulations on being admitted! It will be a positive life altering experience.

I've just been accepted for Pre-Speciality PMHNP! So excited!! I went to the Open House in October and will attend the one in March as well, as I will use that weekend to browse housing options. Hope to meet some of you there!
