Vanderbilt MSN-Direct Entry 2014

Published

Hi All,

I haven't seen a thread yet with regards to the MSN Direct Entry to Vanderbilt. I applied for a priority look (Dec 1) for the FNP program. Is there anyone else out there who has applied? Looking at threads from last year, it looks like many applicants found out mid-February to early March, with the FNP candidates finding out last. I'm signed up to go to the open house March 1, but would really like to know if I've been accepted or not by then. Hope to hear from others that have applied so we can keep each other informed of any updates.

What is everyone doing with their weekend to keep their minds off of Vanderbilt? I am recovering from surgery, so am not at work. Four loads of laundry and errands yesterday, and then my inlaws arrived from Michigan last night. Today: church, the McNay museum in San Antonio then out to dinner. Then tomorrow I can start to obsess again.

I have a friend who was accepted to the acute care np direct entry option, and she got an email status update to her account last Sunday letting her know she had been accepted, so I am still checking my email rather compulsively, lol!

Hi all,

I applied direct entry for the FNP program and I received an email on March 6th regarding an update in my application status. (It said I was accepted) I also called a few days before then and she told me my decision- I couldn't wait any longer hah . Hope this helps!!

I just spoke with Dr. Donaldson, the DNP director and she said I was still under review for both FNP and DNP and to give it another week. So the good news is I am not denied or waitlisted...yet

I think I'm giving myself an ulcer waiting! I called Monday and still under review- no news. Gonna make for a long weekend again!

I have officially paid my deposit for the Pedicatric Acute Care Direct Entry program and would love to hear from anyone else who will be studying any speciality from a distance. I'm a little nervous about the online classes and wondering if any of you have heard how it is. Thanks!

I accepted a position in the FNP program Fall 2014 entry. Woot!

Zanytown when did you hear!

Did anyone apply for a direct-entry program with local clinical placement? I'm considering applying to the PMHNP program during my senior year of BSN and would like to choose the non-distance, local option, but don't know if admission would be realistic.

Hey everyone! I got accepted to the direct entry AG-ACNP program and live in Nashville. I'm very excited! Even though it is VERY premature, I am already thinking about certification preparation, because that was helpful for me when I got my ADN.

I got accepted to the Fall 2014 Primary PNP program. So... how are all of you managing the distance and having to be on campus a week out of every month? I have to work in order to keep benefits and to pay bills... That's about a week a month I can't work plus the 270 in roundtrip airfare or two days on the road driving from DFW... thoughts? suggestions? Should I hold out for a different program?
