I worked there for 5 years in two different positions and I enjoyed my work enviroment ( I only left to continue with my schooling) and hopefully get to return to work there!
I don't know what their RN hiring is as I was not hired as one there.
However, I can offer you good luck with you interview!
What unit are you applying to? I think the interview process differs depending on the unit. I recently got hired with VCH as a LPN.
Hey! I'm a newly graduated LPN, could kindly go over the interview process? I just want to have an idea of how they do things.
FHA/VCH could be somewhat similar.. I applied at both hospital/LTC settings...
Well, I just applied to a posting online through the Vancouver Coastal Health website. I did this several times before I got a call back ( and I have 3 years experience).
The position they called be about is a float between 2 units. So when I was brought into a interview both managers were doing the interview. They asked a lot of unit specific questions. They also provided a lot of different scenarios that could happen on the unit and wanted to know how I would respond. They even gave me a nursing math test! Was actually pretty intense.
After that they called me back and requested 3 references from previous employers. A couple weeks later they called back and told me I had the job!
There has been a extremely thorough orientation and I am very happy with the job so far!
Best of luck!

My interview was very much the same as yours. A lot of scenerios but no math, thankfully. The whole interview took an hour or so. They have called me back already for my references. Hopefully, i get d job! :) The position is for a casual medical/surgical RN float...

Hi!
I have an interview with VCH (here in BC) next week. Anyone here know about their interview process? Or any interview process of other health authorities?
I'm really excited and anxious at the same time. I'm an new grad IEN and new CRNBC registrant with no previous acute care experience so I was surprised to receive a call from them. I really want to pass the interview!
Thanks!!!
