Hello! I couldn't find any threads about Valencia for fall 2015 so I thought I'd make one. I've applied to UCF for fall but I've also applied for Valencia and will be be applying for the concurrent program as well, come may. So I thought hey, I may end up in Valencia's generic ASN track or the concurrent with Valencia/UCF so I wanted to start this thread up to seek out anyone else in the same position. Hello fellow hopefuls, how are you? Anxious? Excited? Impatient?

I forgot all about my highschool shots! Yes!
I already bought my clinical uniform and khakis. The place we buy the uniforms from is called all uniform wear on crystal lake by Florida mall. They have a section there for Valencia. I bought 2 pair of white clinical scrubs and one pair of khakis and it was just under $200. The pants are super see thru and super cheap quality so I suggest buying some nude granny panties too. They also have the scissors we need, blood pressure cuff, all white shoes, and other nursing supplies. I should be all finished with shots and finger prints by this weekend! Getting more and more excited!

Thanks so much for the info I'm def going to check it out this week.. I just started the process with certified profile so hopefully it's a smooth process... What type of watch do we need to get?
Yes, the "scrubs" are all white clinical uniform and they are only at that store, all uniform wear. They are embroidered and say Valencia college nursing student on them and they embroider the pants too with a VC. the khakis are just regular dickies you can get those anywhere. A girl in the program was in the uniform store when I was and she said she was 3 weeks in and still never wore her clinical uniform so anyone using fin aid can wait till orientation at least. I wish I only bought one pair and not two. They were pricey for low quality.
Thanks guys! I'm going to check out the shirts tomorrow! Does anyone know anything about the financial aid? I know because it's a limited access program, and we're not technically students until all Certified Profile checks are cleared, but does anyone know when we will be offered scholarships, and financial aid since we have different specifications and requirements than normal students? TIA guys! It's getting close!!
Has anyone else accessed their nurses portal under our Atlas account? Atlas-> Student tab -> scroll all the way to the bottom on the left hand side... "Nursing Students"
It has our Nursing Student Program Handbook, and many other useful resources... I'll be attending this... on July 15th, HSB 211[h=1]Ms. Hider's Breakfast Club Sessions[/h][h=1]Summer 2015[/h]
These sessions are designed to target specific student supports. All are welcome. Bring your food.Goals: Learn and retain course content, pass exams and progress!Topics:  How to Study, When to Study, What to StudyDeciphering Multiple Choice and Select All That Apply QuestionsNursing Process and Critical ThinkingTargeted Exam ReviewsComprehensive HESI Exam Prep West CampusTime: 8:00-8:45am
I also went under the bookstore and checked out which books are required and recommended for Nursing 1... All of them together from the Valencia bookstore totaled $1250!!! I bought every single books (both recommended and required & some new and some used) from various places online, and spent a total $504! I don't like renting textbooks, because I learn better by making notes in the books, and highlighting various information. I thought that was a HUGE success.
Don't forget to keep track of how much everything is costing you for tax time!
