Valencia Fall 2015

Published

Hello! I couldn't find any threads about Valencia for fall 2015 so I thought I'd make one. I've applied to UCF for fall but I've also applied for Valencia and will be be applying for the concurrent program as well, come may. So I thought hey, I may end up in Valencia's generic ASN track or the concurrent with Valencia/UCF so I wanted to start this thread up to seek out anyone else in the same position. Hello fellow hopefuls, how are you? Anxious? Excited? Impatient?

Overall GPA: 3.82

Science Prereq GPA: 3.67

Non-Science Prereq: 4.0

TEAS: 90.7%

Thank you for the advice, BoraGirl02! Maybe you could answer a question for me as well... I'm currently working on my calculating dosages safely book before school starts. My question is, were you allowed to use a calculator, or is everything written out the long way? Thanks so much!

They allow students to use a simple calculator all the time (thank goodness)! You need to get 92% or higher per exam to get your points and students MUST pass the final exam to pass the course! Its not bad though! Good luck!

Hey guys! Im on the silver team! I tried to get into Red but It was already filled when I went to register. :(

See you guys on the first day :)

Hey everyone, I am a resequencing student starting back this semester. I wanted to know for the Fundamentals of Nursing book, do they still have the one by Kozier and Erb or a newer book on the textbook list?

Also, if you guys have any questions, Im here to help. Ive been through it all already and Im going to be in Osceola this semester, Good luck

Syllabus and schedules are all going to be released on Blackboard as soon as the course is made available, and lab kits should be given out the first day of lab

hello welcome!! it's not the same now we have a new fundamentals book $335. what do you think is the hardest part of nursing one? I am so nervous, I am not a good test taker. any recommendations you can give to us are more than welcome.

Your best bet is to think positive and own it all. Everything is pass or fail, but I think your main focus should be strictly on the test taking. When you see the syllabus you will see how the tests make up the majority of the lettee grade and theyre only one time exams. Everything else, like checkoffs and assigments can have do-overs. I didnt put much attention into the test taking as I should have, which put me right back to the starting line

Is it the Yoost textbook 1st edition? I only heard about from word of mouth but wanted to make sure. Books like Fundamentals Success and seeing Mrs. Hider (you'll learn about her first day) will help you out a lot. I'm terrible at test taking too

yes I think is first edition. they have the list at the bookstore. we also had to get the pharmacology book. did you have pharmacology on the first semester?

not really but once we get into medication chapter we will look into a few chapters in that book
