Valencia College Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone,

I know it may be a little early but who will be applying to Valencia's nursing program for spring 2016? I will be submitting my application next week and I just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone submitted their application already!

Specializes in Cardiac ICU.
I passed with a C and this is the first time ever that a C makes so happy! if you guys wants to anything let me know! it's really strict so follow the rules and prepare for the unexpected! dosages is easier than you think and I barely used the book. if any of you struggle with the skills check off and can't find tutor let me know! don't hesitate to ask, the HESI is a weird exam! good luck all and be ready to start the journey of become a nurse, it's hard but I love it

Do we take the HESI at the end of every semester or is it just the first semester?

apparently is every semester I know nursing 2 has to to take it. there's people that did great on that exam, I think is about how good your critical thinking is and the resources you use

Hello eveyone, I just found out about this forum ; it is so interesting and helpful. If I had known it before I won't have to drive all the way to Osceola campus and save a lot of time for the compliance work . I went to the book store on Monday and looked at the books . OMG . They are so so expensive . The Fundamentals bundle is $ 356 :((

I just bought all my books from the bookstore and for just the required ones it cost me $693. That didn't even count the recommended books.

I ordered my books from different websites, wanted to save some money. It came out to $770!!!

I can't believe how much the books cost, it is almost as much as tuition! And I still have to go pay for my scrubs as well

the only book you need the most is fundamentals, there are books that yoy can get from the library, I didn't use the dosage one because the test is based on exercises the professor teach us. check on amazon there are older versions that work. the fundamentals bundle I recommend you to get it from the bookstore because they come with codes

I have heard that we are going to have a test after the first few weeks based on something close to 10 chapters? Is it true? Should we start reading something now?

This is the first time I heard about taking the Hesi every semester. Does anyone know more about it?

The Hesi is considered the final exam every semester except for Nursing 3 where there is a Hesi and a cumulative final exam!

Thanks. :) I feel like I'm already behind and we haven't even started. Lol I feel like I should of been reading the books already.

yes actually 20 chapters start with 26,27,10,15,28,3,19,20,4,5,6,29,7,8,9,1,13,31,41. the exams are pretty basic. they are not hard honestly, I didn't pass because I spent time reading all sort of resources instead of reading the book. lectures are worthless LOL. fundamentals success is a really good book to get familiar with the questions, and I recommend it. at the library there's a program call nclex4000, practice those questions because the exam hesi looks like that
