Valencia College Spring 2016

Published

Hello everyone,

I know it may be a little early but who will be applying to Valencia's nursing program for spring 2016? I will be submitting my application next week and I just wanted to start a thread to see if anyone submitted their application already!

Hi! My overall GPA was a 3.1, science was like a 3.5, and the pre-reqs were like a 3.2. I got a 78 on the teas and made it into the UCF/VCC concurrent program. For Valencia's traditional program a high teas score doesn't matter as long as you score the 64% (whatever the numbers are).

Hi, i'm super late to this. I'm applying to VC for Spring 2017. I am applying to the traditional and Concurrent track. Just curious. How is the concurrent track going? are the courses with UCF all online or are they on campus?

Hi and thank you for a detailed info. I am debating between nursing (which is already taking too long with all the prereqs) and something quick and short, just to get my foot at the door. Do you still work as lab assistant and how is the pay?(sorry for being too nosy ;) ) Thanks again

Hi! I hope you don't mind me putting my 2 cents in.... But I would steer clear of Keiser. I was planning on attending their RN program, took a semesters worth of prereqs there (Which put me $6,000 in debt for only ONE semester!) and they lied to me about so many things! First, I work at Orlando Health and Keiser students do not do clinicals here. When I asked a Keiser counselor why she told me it was because they CHOSE not to. Well that is not true. I asked a nursing manager here at Orlando Health and they said that Keiser used to have access here and they were kicked out! The students were not up to par, and they messed up big time on multiple occasions. This is the Orlando campus.

My friend currently attends the Lakeland campus and regrets it. She is only a couple months away from finishing, but she has been bullied so badly by teachers and students that she had to transfer to another campus. She said the teachers do not care about the students, and they will almost TRY and fail you. I ran as fast as I could away from Keiser! But Orlando Tech is a GREAT school! I did medical laboratory assisting program there and got a job before I even graduated! The school is small, but it is amazing! Hopefully you don't think I am being rude, but I like to warn people about keiser before they spend close to 40,000 on an associates degree!!!

If you got in the traditional program, what was your TEAS score? I'm asking because I applied recently with a 75.3 TEAS, do you guys think I have a good chance to get in by fall with that score? I have my AA, I have A's in all my pre-reqs so 4.0 and overall 3.94
